horn was going crazy and the relay coil was draining the battery over timetakes 2 hrs to install 1hr wait to drain the car from battery power for the airbags and then 1 hr to take apart and put back together and clean up everything. you just need a 10mm socket there are only 2 bolts. for the actual horn switch make sure you have torx bits. these would be standard for anyone doing any kind of automotive workthis is definitely a doable diy repair just be safe overall when you are working with airbags use common sense

Work just as expected.I had to install twice becaus first time screws was not properly adjusted and horn button pad looked a little rised. Take your time to adjust it in right position.

I ordered this to address ghost honking from my 2010 Dodge Journey SXT.Previous to ordering this part, I installed a new airbag clockspring but the 'ghost honking' continued still. I wish I had ordered this horn switch first because it solved my problems. It was also a fraction of the price of the clockspring too.Very simple to install but you MUST follow safety protocols when working on any airbag. This horn switch is positioned directly behind the steering wheel airbag. Always disconnect the battery and insulate the cables with gloves or something similar. Allow the system to discharge for up to an hour before attempting this repair. Again, this is an airbag system you to have to work around. If you have any doubts or apprehensions, take it to a professional.Once the airbag is safely removed with the qty. 2, 10 mm bolts on either side of the steering column, remove the two power connectors from the back of the airbag. There is a small black connector which supplies power to the horn on the top left side of the horn switch. It is easier to remove this after taking out the qty. 3, T20 Torx screws from the old horn switch. Be careful with this connector as it is very delicate.Reverse the order and you should be back in business. If you removed the qty. 2, 10-amp horn fuses from the TIPM under the hood, replace them and test the horn. If the ghost honking continues, you should investigate the airbag clockspring and then the TIPM. The TIPM is the most expense of the two.I'm not a mechanic so please do not treat this as a 'how to'. I am simply recording my experiences.With this product - so far so good!
