Despite its unusual appearance, this bulb does in fact light up a reflector housing quite well. I was a bit skeptical when I purchased them because they seem to only have LEDs on opposite faces of the bulb, but their convex shape allows them to throw light pretty evenly in all directions. They aren't as flat as they appear to be in photos, it's a bit of an optical illusion. They will work just fine even when the reflector housing isn't circular, and they're also noticeably brighter than incandescents, but not overly bright like some other bulbs I've tried, so they're not obnoxious at night if you have a clear bulb housing like mine.One other thing I'd like to mention is that these bulbs are one of the few out there that can actually keep themselves cool if they're used in constant-on applications like daytime running lights. I've had one of the brighter LED bulbs burn out on me after 6 months in a DRL/turn signal combo application probably because it was covered in LEDs and didn't have enough cooling surfaces.I can thoroughly recommend these bulbs for their design and build quality, and in my opinion they're one of the best options for replacing incandescents.

Bought Amber and red for 2013 edge sport. Nice and bright. Amber led looks a bit reddish in the tail-light housing (plastic housing color bleed maybe?). Red led is spot on and looks way better than the OEM bulbs. I have projector style in the front for turn signals but I will try these in a day or so to see if they look better and will report back here. Used forscan tool to eliminate hyper flash without using resistors. Note that I had to lift the contacts off the bulb base a bit to maintain contact or the led bulbs would go off when fully seated in the receptacle. Clicked right in tight like they should. Note: If you change bulbs with the hazards on like I did, the LEDs will appear broke until you turn on the vehicle. I must have angered the computer.
