I ended up returning this for an Leatherman Arc. The Signal is great in a gimmicky way, but once you realize you probably won't need a firestarter -- especially one that gets used to quickly, it starts to lose it's charm. The biggest downside for me was the screwdriver. Due to the carabiner location, you can't close the tool all the way to use the screwdriver, leaving you with an awkward "L" shaped screwdriver.

Another great addition to my leatherman collection. All the basic tools you need for most situations. I like the added fire starter. I keep this tool in my hiking pack.

I have to say truthfully overall, so disappointed. In leatherman, this was sort of a lifelong decision, as i'm not a pocket knife for a multi tool person.I was given a skeletool a few years ago, and unfortunately somebody stole it from me while I was backpacking. None o s the leatherman tool I received showed up damaged pliers were out of shape, and they still are even though I try to push on them to rectify the bed nuts in there. It just looks horrible. It's definitely not appealing when you pay that much money for something that automatically comes damaged. Not only that reaching it to Leatherman, they did absolutely nothing. They didn't even respond to my email to their actually customer service website. The rest of the tool is just tough. Never really broken, even though I bought multi tool oil and really give it my best to work in the tool. I do know that things need to be worked in like this. And this thing is just I don't know the company I thought I was buying into something that was really great. And here I am, i've bought into something that I wouldn't recommend to anybody at this point because of customer service. And obviously the chance of you receiving a pretty damaged tool in them, not doing nothing, not answering you and probably making you jump through every last hoop.Imaginable, I don't know.I should've just bought one of the cheapies

For all the nice features of this multi-tool, they sure screwed up the design for utilization of the actual screwdriver or other attachments, which all conflict with the carabiner on the product to prevent you from being able to close it and use them cleanly, you can still work with them fine with the product open, but I expect better from LEATHERMAN, especially when on their official site you can even see the issue at play in their marketing materials.

Super happy with this purchase. I put it off for a while because leatherman tools aren't cheap, but I'm glad I stuck to my guns and bought quality. Spent a few days on my off-grid property and used this thing like crazy. Did a lot of wiring, gardening, fence mending, and some building. Used it constantly including the pliers, wire cutters, the knife (and so glad its shaped like a utility blade) the serrated knife, and the little saw on my fruit trees, both screwdriver bits (which worked better than my actual screwdrivers) the awl, can opener, the needle nose, the hammer end. The needle nose are also better than my standard pliers, as well.I'm especially happy to have a fire striker and a sharpener built in. Having fire and a way to keep a knife sharp are absolutely the most important survival tools. I've seen some complain that the flint is soft and so it wont last forever and that the sharpener is not the best. But not having either compared to always having those with you is incalculable. Anyone who's actually been in a survival scenario knows what I mean. It takes a HUGE amount of calories and energy to start a friction fire; I've done it a lot. Having a ferro rod saves energy when energy is worth it's weight in gold, about as valuable as fire.
