We just had the electrician begin to install it and discovered there are missing parts, to include the brass cover. Headed to the local hardware store to see if we can buy similar parts. I see from at least one other reviewer that this is not an isolated problem.

I recently purchased an old home which had several floor outlets installed since the walls are brick and plaster. However, the outlets were not up to code, they were simply wall outlets facing up. We wanted to replace just the plug of the existing outlets and paid an electrician to do a couple of them. We opted to do the rest ourselves and wanted to use these plugs/covers (not the accompanying box). They did not work. These plugs do no sit recessed in the existing box. We had to go to our local electrical supply store to find a proper plug. As is often the case, once we had the correct components, they were a cinch to install.

The house we purchased had a regular plug in the floor. This was a perfect replacement.

Fit exactly and allowed me to sell my home without any problem. The old unit had corroded and the round cover could not be removed, making the unit unusable.
