This is ok. I don't really use it to often bc I didn't like how it cleaned my brushes.

I was very pleased. It took a bit to get use to spinning action. I plugged the tumbler into a usb port on my computer. I waited about 5 minutes to charge the unit. To my surprise. It worked perfectly. There is only one button. Press it for two to three seconds to turn it on and off. It has three speeds. BE careful, if you place the brush in wrong, it will spin the brush out of your hands. I am happy with my tumbler.

I'm getting more and more into painting, between painting on paper/canvas after years of only doing digital art, painting old 3D prints to give them new life, and my most recent hobby, resin casting.Like many, I've always just dipped and swished my brushes into a cup of either water, paint thinner, airbrush cleaner or mineral spirts (I use Gamsol). I've seen textured cleaning cups like this one and have been wanting one, so I decided to get this. For some reason, I was under the impression that this cup had an internal power supply, and the USB-C port was to recharge said supply (battery). I was very surprised to find out that the USB-C port was only for power when I got this cup.I haven't rigged this cup up to my current draw testing rig, so I don't know how much current this cup's motor draws. If I get around to testing that, I'll update this review with the results. For now, I would advise using a USB adapter that outputs at least one amp (written 1A, or 1,000mA) to run this cup's motor, as electric motors draw a lot of initial current to spin up.I've been eager to set up my airbrushing booth, but between an extremely long winter, and now a rushed spring season that has fiercely aggravated my allergies, I haven't gotten to do that yet. Why am I bringing this up? It pertains to the reason why I got this cup. While many airbrush users remove the hood of their airbrush to scrape off tip dry (congealing paint on the needle of the airbrush), I leave the hood on and use a paintbrush soaked in airbrush cleaner to clear tip dry. This leaves the brush bristles stuck with globs of paint. I bet this cup with its motorized motion will work great for cleaning such brushes! But... I have to wait until the weather and my allergies stabilize. Stay tuned for an update! For the time being, I'm using this cup to clean my brushes as I paint on paper and 3D prints with acrylic paints. For this purpose, this cup works just fine, even if I don't connect it to power and run its motor. I have high hopes that this cup will work great for extending the life of the sacrificial paint brushes I use to clean the tips of my airbrushes because of how well its working for me. I'm also glad that the silicone lining of this cup is removable; it makes cleaning much easier! Also, having the motor and drive assembly in this cup adds weight, so this cup won't easily slide or tip over during use. Pair it with a power bank, and you could use this cup powered on the go! Anyway, again, I'm pleased with this cleaning cup and am very eager to try it under different conditions!

I use brushes for many different art forms. I do watercolor, acrylic, gouache, and I also do makeup art work as well. This cleaner has a variety of uses. How you use it makes a difference.HOW THIS COMESThis comes with a cord (you need to plug it into a 5va rated USB outlet), a brush to clean the bowl with, the base, and a cloth to use in between washing.HOW TO USEWATERCOLOR AND GOUACHEWhen using this for watercolor, I do not clean the brush with the rotation until I am completely done. In between uses, I put a large bowl of water and rinse the brush in that. Then I quickly run the brush in this cleaning bowl over the bottom which is plenty to clean it between colors. When I am completely done with painting, then I clean this using the LOWEST setting as watercolor brushes are more fragile than some others.ACRYLICI might need to clean this more often depending on the colors used and what I am doing. I have two larger containers of water and a smaller empty container near by. When using acrylics, I quickly rinse the brush in one of the larger containers reserved for that. After that, I run the brush over the bowl with the raised points to clean it further. That is usually plenty.Because acrylics use more solids than watercolors, I have to empty the bowl more often. That is what the empty container is for. I empty the bowl and then refill it using the 2nd water container.Once I am done painting, I clean the brushes with the rotation on and the highest I go is medium depending on the brushes and how fine they are.MAKEUPWhen I am using this to clean makeup brushes, for my personal brushes, I only clean them once every few weeks. I do not wear makeup daily. I run this often on the highest rotation level but if the brush is more fragile and smaller, I run it on the lowest speed. If I am using this for clients, I clean after every use when I am done. I always have spare brushes for color changes so I can wait until the session ends before use.HOW TO USEThis is a long press to turn it on. The first speed is the highest. Then you press once to go to medium and then down to low. Turning off requires another long press.PLUGThis is not rechargeable, but it has to have a cord plugged into a USB outlet.THE BOTTOM LINEIf used carefully, this can prolong the brushes and keep them working well for a long time. Be sure to dry them on their sides to protect the glue in the bristlesMY RATINGFIVE STARS. I like this a lot. It takes a bit to get used to at first, but once I got each paint type and cleaning procedure down (including how to hold the brushes) this has been a big help to keep my brushes clean.
