You can also feel it is made out of metal, there is nothing plastic, the lock is also metal and the greatest surprise.It is a push lock. All of your dads out there, or DIYers, when pushing the two plates together to screw to the door, watch your hand placement on the interior handle.While pushing it in, chances are, you have already engaged the lock.When you do the close test, do so from the inside, or you’ll find yourself locked on the outside.

Lovely brushed gold finish which is only available in NZ for about 5 times the price of these. Arrived very quickly too.

Great door handles and they look beautiful, with one odd note, detailed below:One kind of odd issue - the Passage handle (no lock) version is noticeably higher quality than the Privacy (with lock) version! The Passage version is very smooth and engages the door latch immediately with zero "dead zone". The Privacy version is kind of rough feeling and has a large "dead zone" where you press the handle down and the latch doesn't retract immediately.We bought 2 Passage handles, and 2 Privacy handles, and the issue is consistent across both of each, so this is probably not a coincidence.
