Hilo 101: Cómo elegir el hilo adecuado para su proyecto
El hilo es tal vez el componente más esencial de tejer y ganchillo– así que ¿cómo sabes cuál es el adecuado para tu proyecto especial?
Estos son algunos consejos rápidos y fáciles para empezar:
Contenido de fibra
El contenido de fibra del hilo adecuado para su proyecto probablemente estará determinado por su uso final. Los hilos de lana y seda son ideales para suéteres, bufandas y mantas. Utiliza hilos de algodón para mayor durabilidad, ideal para accesorios de moda, tratamientos de ventanas y decoración del hogar.
Textura
Una buena regla de pulgar es cuanto más adornado sea el hilo, más simple el patrón o la forma de su proyecto debería ser. Los hilos novedosos como boucle, marinado o variegado son perfectos para chales y mantas, mientras que las variedades más clásicas y lisas como el hilo liso son ideales para más técnicas de costura.
Peso
Categorizado por el espesor del hilo, los pesos de hilo oscilan entre 0 y 7 o "encaje" a "jumbo". Utilice pesas más ligeras (0-2) para calcetines y prendas delicadas para bebés. Los pesos medios (3-4) son ideales para suéteres, bufandas y prendas de abrigo ligeras. Pesos más pesados (5-7) para las mantas y alfombras.

I love this yarn. It's my first time knitting and I was apprehensive about buying a product without having physically inspected it first, but my fears were unfounded.I'm currently working on an afghan blanket project, and it feels so soft on the fingers. The flecking throughout the yarn is understated in low light, but visible in mid to bright lighting, giving my blanket an almost starry sky effect.If you get the ACTUAL Lion Brand packaging (not the knock-off replacement I got the first time), it comes with really helpful information on both sides of the cardstock tube. The integrated rulers (in both inches and centimeters) are a beautiful addition that I love.Thank you Lion Brand!

Me gustó mucho este producto ya que por su tipo en el lugar a donde vivo no se encuentran estambres con estas características, es muy suave, grueso 6 y el precio esta muy bien

El estambre es suave y fácil de trabajar. Una bola me alcanzó para hacer un gorro para adulto, y un cuadro pequeño con lo que sobró.El color es bonito, aunque las pelusas de colores se sueltan fácilmente, y las puntas se deshacen fácilmente así que recomiendo hacerles un nudo.

Muy bonito y fácil de tejer, hice unos calentadores talla XL, ordene tres madejas lo malo fue que en una de ellas el jaspeado era bastante diferente...

El producto es de excelente calidad, es bastante grueso de 4 hebras, el color es maravilloso y llego todo en perfecto estado.

This yarn is almost impossibly soft. Ridiculously, wonderfully, amazingly soft. I wish I could convey adequately how insanely soft this stuff is, but unless you feel it for yourself, words won't do it justice. I got 3 skeins of it (in Billings Chocolate) to make a scarf and I'd like to get more in a variety of other colors.I'm knitting on size 14 needles, and this stuff knits up really quickly. Also, its bulkiness seems to be forgiving when it comes to sloppy stitching (I knit on the train and the motion can sometimes mess with my ability to keep consistent tension). The resulting knit is fantastically soft (have I mentioned how soft this yarn is?), thick and cozy, and remarkably stretchy..So, if this yarn is so fantastic, why not 5 stars? Well, I notice that the strand seems to come apart pretty easily. I've stuck the needle into the strand more than once, and met no resistance. Also, I notice that as I'm working through my first skein, about a quarter of the way through, the strand is somewhat unraveled already. I'm hoping that it'll stay together once it's knit into the scarf, but it's kind of discouraging to encounter this so early on.All in all, this yarn is nice - works up fast, makes a really nice feeling product, and it's soft (seriously). As long as it holds up, I think I'll be buying more of this yarn!***Update***I've amended my review from 4 stars to 5. After going through 3 skeins of this yarn, I've absolutely fallen in love with it. Yes, it does kind of come apart a little bit while knitting, but the finished product seems like it's going to be durable. Also, it just feels so nice - anything you make with this yarn is going to be soft, thick, and cozy. It really is a fantastic yarn.
