Highest quality rod I could expect at this price point. Extremely sensitive and perfectly balanced. Perfect for trout and pan fishing. I’d compare to my 180$ rod.

Okay, let’s look at this LITTMA Wild Streams Ultralight Fishing Rod. I was on the lookout for a rod that could balance portability, sensitivity, and value. I’ve been fishing for a while, and I needed something light and easy to use without breaking the bank. After some research and reading reviews, this rod seemed like a solid pick - especially for panfish, crappie, and trout, which I fish for most frequently. I decided to give it a try, and I’m glad I did, though with a few reservations. The first thing that struck me about this rod was how incredibly light it felt in hand. Crafted from carbon fiber, it’s significantly lighter than many other rods I’ve owned, making long fishing trips much more comfortable. The rod’s two-piece design is another highlight - perfect for someone like me who often hikes to remote spots. I can easily pack it away without the hassle of lugging around a cumbersome one-piece rod. The green color is sleek and aesthetically pleasing, but what I really liked was the ergonomic cork handle. It feels solid and comfortable, offering excellent grip even on rainy days when most handles would be slippery. As for performance, this rod does its job well for light fishing. I used it primarily for trout and crappie, and the sensitivity was decent, especially with lighter lures. The flex is smooth, allowing for nice, accurate casts in tight spots. It’s also incredibly responsive to even the tiniest bites. However, while it performed admirably for smaller species, I noticed that it lacks the backbone needed for handling larger fish. When I tested it with a heavier fish, I found that it bent all the way down to the handle, which would be concerning if you’re targeting anything larger than a panfish or smaller trout. This may be a concern if you’re fishing in areas with the potential for bigger catches, as I’m not sure how durable it would be under heavy pressure. I did run into a few issues with the rod. While the guides are nicely made, there’s a slight lack of precision in terms of sensitivity, which became noticeable when fishing with braided line. The action also felt a little slow at times, and I found that casting light lures with the 7’ version wasn't always as accurate as I would’ve liked. Despite these minor issues, the rod still does what it’s meant to do - catch fish, and provide a comfortable, enjoyable experience on the water. Overall, the LITTMA Wild Streams Ultralight Fishing Rod is a great choice for beginners or anglers looking for a lightweight rod for freshwater fishing. It offers excellent value for the price, and it’s hard to beat for its portability and comfort. Just don’t expect it to hold up to the rigors of larger fish or extreme conditions. If you’re primarily targeting panfish and trout in calm waters, this rod should serve you well for seasons to come.Bottom line:The LITTMA Wild Streams Ultralight Fishing Rod is a great choice for lightweight, portable fishing, especially for panfish, crappie, and trout. It’s incredibly light, comfortable to use, and packs easily, making it perfect for hiking to remote spots. However, it lacks the backbone for larger fish and may struggle with accuracy when casting light lures or using braided line. Ideal for beginners and those targeting smaller fish in calm waters, but not for heavy-duty or extreme conditions. I give it a 4-star rating and I strongly recommend it.Pros:1. Very lightweight and easy to handle.2. Two-piece design for easy portability.3. Comfortable cork handle with a non-slip grip.4. Good sensitivity for light fishing.5. Affordable and great value for the price.Cons:1. Lacks backbone for larger fish.2. Less accurate when casting light lures.3. Slow action that can affect performance.4. Not durable enough for extreme conditions.

I paired this rod with a vintage penn 420ss. This rod is a replacement for a rod I broke. The broken rod was purchased from a sporting good store and is identical to this rod. The only difference is this purchase is a 2 piece rod and the sporting goods store was $115.00. I liked this one so much I purchased another. So I have a 2-6lb model and the 4-8lb model on the way. I'm going to put a 716z on the new one.
