The item is fairly flimsy, and the top black part is made of cheap plastic, NOT metal like one would expect.

This is a sturdy T square. I like the 28 inch size that I chose. It is an accurate measurement. I would buy it again. I do feel the price is quite high. That could be because It’s a hard shipping size.

I bought the heavy duty 36" square.I was a bit hesitant to buy this product because there were a number of reviewers that didn't think it was square or that the measurements were inaccurate. And I bought the heavy duty one since a number of people thought it was flimsy.I felt it was quite sturdy. Perhaps because it was the heavy duty one.Absolutely square. I checked it against a 24" square and it was dead on.And accurate. I measured it against two of my measuring tools and it was perfect.So if you had issues with yours, I would return it. Perhaps a quality control problem, but they are quite capable of making them perfect.
