I bought this as a Closing gift for my clients. They purchased their first home and will use this to hold the front door open. It fits the decor of the home perfectly and they love it!

As many reviewers have stated, this is a nice looking, heavy doorstop (positive) but has absolutely no padding or protection (negative) against scratching wood floors or painted doors. I purchased 2 and they have scratched my wood floor and doors. Unless you don't care about your wood floor or door finish, it probably would be best to seek out doorstops with felt or rubber protectors.

These door stops are hollow but still substantial enough to keep that pesky door open. I like them better than the ones that have a wedge that sticks under the door. I think the wedged ones could eventually harm the door, but the flat-backed door stops are perfect.

Love this doorstop! It's stylish and heavy enough to hold the door open. I was worried about the bottom's because we have woodfloors so I put some felt on the bottom and they work like a charm, as to not scratch the floor.
