This camera is well made and supplies a nice clear picture. I'm using it on my 3d printer and it's perfect for monitoring the status of my prints. It's very easy to set up and I really like the ability to use the USB C for the power supply and the video output. It makes the setup nice and clean. It's probably a good idea to print a 3d box for it to help keep the dust out over time.

Lack of color is the only thing holding this back. Crystal clear 2160p resolution plus you can find different lenses for it.This is great for projects, creating a new device or just taking pictures and video. Both USB and HDMI plugs.Had there been HDR I'd have given it 5 stars.

Honestly the wide angle kills it for me. It's a bit too wide. When viewing people or faces everybody is very stretched wide. This appears to be due to the lens. I'm in the middle of trying different lens options and finding a case for it. But this should be good. Just not good with what it comes with as well as what it doesn't come with (normal lens and case/mount). It's tricky getting this mounted in a case as the attached 3 PCBs use the standoff holes so you may struggle with that. currently this is halfway between the wide angle and a manual focus lens that is nicer. I'm hoping that this will be good for this camera even though it has autofocus. I already had this case from a global shutter camera. So I'm just trying it. I don't want to buy a lens but I probably will if I have to. It does have really good picture. If not for that I would have given 1 star. I'm happy with it but would be happier with a different lens.

Overall this is a great module for a variety of camera projects. The housing shown in one of the product images is not included, however. What is included is the camera module itself, pre-assembled, as well as a 5ft flat HDMI cable and USB-C cable. The framerate and clarity from this camera is pretty good, even in low lighting. The focal length does not move, but has a good range from about 6 inches on. However, anything closer begins to blur and go out of focus. The wide angle of this is great, but also introduces a slight fish-eye effect.In my tests, this camera worked right away with no additional setup or drivers required on Windows, Mac, and Linux. I also tested the HDMI output of this camera directly to a large screen TV. It may have been partially due to low lighting and limits of the TV I used, but I found the HDMI quality to be not quite as smooth and crisp as what I got over USB. It was still fairly good "webcam sufficient" quality. Over USB however, colors were vibrant and resolution was crisp. The frame rate was also very smooth.For my uses it is not quite suitable for use as a webcam due to the fisheye effect, I prefer a flatter image for conferences. But I do see some really interesting potential for robotics and drone projects I have been wanting to build upon. I can also see this as a great accessory to add to a 3D printer to keep track of progress, given that it is attached to a computer of some kind like a small PC or Raspberry Pi. I will say it would be nice if iEights offered enclosures for this form factor camera or 3D printable files to create an enclosure. The platform this camera is built upon appears to be used with various other cameras they have on their store. My only critique about this product really is that there is a picture of this camera in an enclosure on the product page, but there does not seem to be a straight-forward way to obtain this enclosure.Other than that, this camera is very competently made and a fantastic high quality product. It has good thermals while in operation and an appropriately sized heatsink. With a proper enclosure this could be a good solution for more industrial projects. As a webcam however, I would say it does an ok job, but will fall short compared to commercial webcams with IR sensors and narrower focal lengths. As a security camera or remote camera, I think this would really work well.

I got this to use with my laser cutter, and it does what I need it to do. The resolution is perfect, and it connects easily.
