No complaints about this compressor. It's quiet but has enough capacity to keep up with any jobs that I've used it for; refilling tires, finish nailers.

The Makita Quiet Series is not a gimmick. I didn't realize that the decibel scale is exponential and not linear. So when I first bought an 80 db RIGID 6 gal compressor for $129 I thought it was only 33% louder than the 3 gal Makita at 60 db but $279. I didn't want to pay $150 more for 1/2 the capacity and only a 20 db reduction. WRONG. Since I'm remodeling the compressor has to be inside and often in the same room. I learned that 80db is 100 times more intense and 4 times louder than 60db. It's the difference between a freight train at 15 meters and conversation at a restaurant. The noise level between 80db and 60db is that much.So, yes, the extra cost is totally worth it for me to have a compressor running right next to me that doesn't drive me out of the room until it's done running. It has enough capacity to run my framing nail gun, stapler and finish guns no problem. I just used it to frame a wall and it kept pace no problem.If it matters to you there are a couple limitations: max 135 PSI, 3 gallon capacity and it's heavy at 52 pounds but still luggable.

Just got this in today. Decided to take it around the house and finish some jobs I couldn't get right with my old compressor.It worked amazingly!!Lightweight to carry around.Very quiet.Compact and great looking.I love the attention to details, all the way to the power cord storage brackets.I put in about 50 brad nails. Super easy to adjust the psi so that make my nailer work perfectly.Best part which I didn't even know is it's oil free. So low maintenance required!Highly recommend!

This compressor is listed to weigh 44 lbs. It's lighter than some comparable machines that I considered and used, but those others were on wheels. This is heavy enough that some users may wish for wheels and a handle, but it's not bad to carry. There's a shield on the back to ride against your leg (or that's what I believe it's for) and it balances pretty well with the carry handle. The dual hose connections are a nice feature. It allows you to use two tools at once, or hook up two different air nailers, etc. The compressor is rated to come on at 105 psi. That's a nice feature because I have had issues with my framing nailer not seating the last three nails right before other compressors kick back on due to low pressure. This compressor fills up quickly from empty and refills quickly and quietly. If I have one small gripe, I would like it if this was 150 psi or higher (it's a 135 psi machine) so it wouldn't run as often. The side effect is that it would run longer each time. And it's not running constantly or anything like that, but the higher pressure could be a nice improvement. It's quieter than some other comparable "quiet" compressors that I've used by at least a few decibels and it's a solidly built workhorse. For the amount of air it moves (2.6 SCFM) and the level of quiet it maintains while doing it, I think it's a tough package to beat.
