Purchased this when our previous one of a different brand started having issues. No names, but this band saw is FAR superior to that black & yellow one....

I used to cut pipe and Uni strut with a sawall until I got this bandsaw. Now anything I can cut with the bandsaw I use it. It goes through everything like butter.

I had looked at full-size cordless bandsaw’s for years but they cost a lot and they weigh a lot. When Makita brought out this compact lightweight model I knew it would work for me (I’m an electrical contractor).Cuts are very fast and the salt is easy to operate with one hand. We often work from ladders and safety requires that both feet and one hand be on the ladder at all times leaving only one hand to operate a tool.Blade changes are fast and easy and the saw has a built-in light that illuminates the area being cut. When you first pick the tool up it weighs so little that you might think it isn’t capable of doing much. But in fact the small weight keeps the operator from getting tired as quickly as when using a larger tool.We’ve only been using this tool for about a month but if it’s like every other Makita tool we own it will last a long time and provide great value for the money.

Wish I bought this ages ago. Handed it to my head guy and got this why look, after the first cut he looked like a kid meeting Santa Clause for the first time. I used it a few days latter myself and felt like it was Christmas Morning.Will see how it does over time, hopefully saves me a lot in sawzall blades and labor time. Plan on buying a second one before the next project starts.11/19/2020 Have had two for a while now, buying third today. Cuts 2" emt clean, 2 1/2" I have to spin the pipe as I cut. Just bought its big brother for cutting larger conduit.
