The magnet is strong, the compartment is a perfect size, but the lid pops out and is challenging to get back in the slots properly to allow it to close securely.

One of the better models available, long powerful magnet vs the cheap ones that use 2 little magnets, which eventually fall off when your vehicle hits a bump

I had to use a thin rubber jar lid opener to get traction to get it open. Would not budge using my thumb. Another review said they filed down the little plastic bead that snaps the lid closed. I used an emory board nail file and it filed down easily. I filed until I was able to open and close it with my thumb. I don’t think I would use it on a car after filing down the “lock”, but for my purpose it is fine.

I hate being locked out of my car and having to break in, usually scratching the paint around the door in the process. It happens o us all. With this, I can hid a key under my car in a place only I would know to look. The copy won't start the car since it's not chipped. This keeps anyone from steeling the car, even if they miraculously find the key. But, if I lock my keys in the car, I can get in to retrieve them without breaking in.
