Its a good lock with some anomalies. It seems like for whatever reason masterlock added everything needed for a core cover but didn't add one in the end, stranger still the less secure 911 has a cover. From a lock picker perspective this can be tricky, the one I got is harder than my other 931, but in the end I can pick them both. For this locks full potential, add a 6th pin to the core because masterlock gives you a six pin core but only fills 5. The 5 pins I believe are 4 spools and 1 standard, because I got some wiked false sets. I imagine drilling would be straight forward, but most companies forego anti-drill features at this price. One thing that does concern me is the lack of recessed rivets, this is partially hidden under the plastic cover, but you can still see the rivets. On some locks, knocking the rivet heads off wont make the laminations come apart ( example is the abus eterna), but I don't think masterlock has ever taken this approach so that could be a vulnerability. My final critique is the shackle, its diameter is a bit small for its class, but at least its boron. I am using this to lock a 10 millimeter bike chain, which fits 2 links perfectly. Most of the time this lock will be under a roof, but the space has no walls. I will update this review when it becomes winter and the lock is being subjected to negative temperatures.

UPDATE: I can now do it in less than 20 sec [...]I bought this lock specifically to test a comment that someone left earlier about it being very hard to pick. I am by no means an expert. I have a little experience lock picking but it's no more than anyone else could acquire in a week or so. I was able to pick this lock in less than 20 min on the first try. If you're looking for something hard for people to cut off, then this would probably be fine. If you're looking for something people can't pick then keep searching.

Forced Entry:Assuming you use this on a hasp that is extremely durable, this lock is very good at its job of preventing entry. The majority of bolt cutters can't fit around or get a grip its shackle guard, but those that can eat right through its softer material. If by chance the guard is bypassed, the shackle itself is of much stronger material and requires considerable effort to cut. My trusty 48" pair that can eat through the master lock magnum m5 can't even grab this lock due to the shackle guard, so it's not just for show. The size of crowbar or hammer or both needed to unshackle or break this lock is astounding, and most people wouldn't stand a chance. The shackle even took a solid 2 minutes straight against an industrial pipe grinder, even though it cut through the guard in 10 seconds.Lock Picking:The majority of thiefs using lock pick kits will be thwarted. This lock has 5 security driver pins (4 spool and 1 serrated). The serrated is of poor quality and shallow cuts, and serves little better than a standard pin, but overall it's enough to make it near impossible to rake. The springs are extremely strong on the pins, and I have also had 0 luck bumping the lock. The key pins are all standard, which isn't a huge deal, and the cylinder itself is not threaded or serrated. Because the springs are so strong, many pickers will be limited by their tools strength. This lock breaks cheaper picks a lot easier than most, and the key turn is so hard that someone might successfully pick it and never know because they didn't turn their lever hard enough. It's also very difficult to get any tools inside the locks very recessed and very small keyway. Even a thin pick can't be pushed up from the bottom to reach the pins, you have to start in the middle. This makes thicker picks uselessThe downfall of this lock appears when pitted against a professional picker with the right tools made of very high quality steel and the right size picks. The actual SPP pick resistance of this lock is lower than average for a commercial lock due to poor tolerances on the core cylinder. Even the $12 Abus 80/50 titalium has better machining inside and is more difficult to crack.I will still give this lock a 5 star rating because of some of the nifty tricks on its outer sleeve. The type of people that could pick this with ease are rarely into theft, and a smaller portion of thieves than that even bother with with lock picking.

I was somewhat reluctant to give this 5 stars because I don't actually know how difficult it would be to pick. Having said that, I bought 4 of these because I knew they would be harder to cut than a non shielded lock. Serious thieves will get in where they want but to the average person this appears pretty tough. I'm using them in a place where they are latched at an angle making the hasp(?) pretty hard to get to. I figure they will at least slow down a person with a pair of bolt cutters and hopefully discourage them altogether. They appear heavy duty and it seems that they will last a long time.
