Easy to install and the mount design will conform to most beds. Drill 6 holes, and you're done. It's sturdy, and doesn't squeak or rattle. It's solid. I've been using mine for over a year and no issues. I strongly suggest using larger and THICKER washers under the nuts, because they will rip right through the sheetmetal! I ended up cutting out a couple of 2mm steel rectangles to go behind the sheetmetal. The washers they include are too thin and just bend.

Racks were simple enough to install. They came with a couple basic diagrams describing how everything goes together, not step by step instructions.I added a few thin pieces of steel behind the mounting hardware to spread the load of the bolts. A large washer would also accomplish this if you are worried about the bolts bending/pulling through relatively thin steel. The mounting hardware will require punching two ~ 3/8in holes into your bed and side walls. Fastening the bed’s bolts were tricky and required a partner(or magnetic wrench, XL socket extension) to hold a wrench under the bed. After tightening the allen key insert screws, the uprights became very sturdy with no play. This rack held an 80# 16’ kayak for a 30 mile round trip going 65 mph. I will update this review with more trips.

Bought for Colorado 2016. Truck box was too high for the short insert sleeves, so I welded a longer L bracket to the bottom to even the height to the box. I used nut inserts into the truck bed, not supplied. And the ladder posts were too too tall for my liking, so I cut the bottoms off about 5”. Last, to have a stop for the ladder, I welded one of the 5” pieces to the center of the front post. You know, the horizontal flat your ladder rests on.Also, it comes with set screws and a hex wrench to fasten the posts to the sleeves. That’s crap. Unless you plan to just leave them permanently installed. I rethreaded the holes to fit eye hook bolts so I could use my fingers to tighter or uninstall the posts. So yes I had to modify them, but they fit the way I want.

I've bought two of these now; I'm a fan. Good value. As others have noted, the quality control is a little off, but nothing that a rubber mallet cant fix. It's a ladder/lumber rack; it's not a fine watch. Also, there was missing hardware (again), but I have a drawer of spare nuts and bolts. If you are buying a rack, then presumably you know how to build things. Once installed, it is very versatile and practical.

Great product for the price. Strong built and easy to install, only 3 bolts per pedestal. However, drilling of 6 holes of 3/6'' is required. I use it mainly for kayak transport and it works fine.
