I was glad I purchase this inflatable pillow on my 10hr flight to Europe. It was so nice to have to lean forward to rest my head. I fell asleep. On the way back I left it on the first plane… I was so upset I didn’t have it with me so I could sleep on my 2nd flight. I’ll have to purchase another one.

This is, in my opinion, a very clever idea. Instead of leaning back into an uncomfortable seat that really isn’t designed to facilitate sleep, lean forward into this inflatable travel pillow. It doesn’t take much effort to inflate (or deflate); has a flocked, soft smooth covering and openings for your arms and face. To use, just lean forward and your face will drop down into the opening. It is no different than drowsing off, with your head falling naturally downward, just a lot more comfortable.Put your arms through the holes and it’s kind of like falling asleep embracing your favorite stuffed animal or squishable. It’s versatile: you can use it anywhere. Unfortunately for me, I’ve had to go to the emergency room in the middle of the night a few times in the past couple of years. This would have been wonderful to have while waiting to be seen. The product is well-made and with careful handling, I think it will last for a while. It is portable, fitting into the supplied bag when deflated. The bag, however, is larger than it appears on the Amazon page and may be bigger than you want in your carry-on airplane baggage.I have some concerns about using it, one general, the others specific to me.The general concern is about using in cars where there is always the potential of an air bag deploying. I am now knowledgeable about how an airbag deployment would work with this. The concerns specific to me are about my back and neck issues, issues I share with many others who have back and neck problems. I only tested the device for a short time and I don’t know will happen if used for longer periods.Overall, though, I think this is a pretty neat and useful device.Jerry

I've seen these pillows around for a little while on social media, and I'll be honest: I thought they looked kind of ridiculous. I mean, they're pretty big and odd-looking, and you just don't see them around you much in everyday life. I figured it was a trendy gimmick that would disappear quickly from the internet.Turns out, after seeing these, I kept thinking about how convenient they would be for car and plane trips. And every car trip since then, when I've been trying to get comfortable enough to sleep for a while, I've thought about these darned stupid-looking pillows and how I'd really like to try one to see if they're really all that. So I finally bit the bullet and got one, and I must say I don't think I'll ever look back. They're possibly the easiest pillows to use ever. There's not even an instruction manual, because they're that simple to inflate. There's a moderate-sized flat valve on the back with a flip-top lid, and a rubber flap inside that doesn't move until you push it inward to deflate the pillow. All you do is open the valve and blow into it, and it inflates astonishingly quickly. (It took me only about 7 breaths to fully inflate it, and I imagine it could easily be done in 6.) To deflate, you just push in the rubber flap, which is held in place by the suction of the air. It's extremely quick to either inflate or deflate it, and it's very easy to roll it up and store back into the small drawstring storage back afterward. It's a good size when inflated, not too big that it'll disturb your neighbors but large enough to give you a solid and comfortable surface to use when catching some shut-eye. I'm 5'7" with a torso on the longer side, and this was a perfect height and size for me.I will stand by my original impression that they are a bit bulky and look funny when they're in use. However, if you don't happen to care much about what other people think, this pillow affords you the best and most comfortable sleeping position offered by a cramped airplane cabin or car backseat without encroaching on anyone else's personal space. And if we're REALLY being honest, a perfect few hours of sleep is well worth a few judgmental stares. (When it's been 3 hours and you're still sleeping like a baby, their judginess will be completely transformed to jealousy anyways.) Even better if you only plan to use this around your family on car or train trips, since they've probably already seen you do weird stuff before. And best of all if you just want this for your own personal, private use at home or work, since it's really nobody else's business how little sleep you got last night...or why.All that to say, get this if you dare, or if you truly do not care about the conclusions the rest of society might draw from watching you snooze peacefully on the world's funniest-looking pillow. Is your sleep while traveling worth it for you? It was for me. If so for you too, I'd encourage you to at least give this type of pillow a try.

Used it for a long travel to India but the minute the person in front of me reclined their seat their is not enough room for the pillow- so it is lovely and comfortable if the person in front of you in the plane keeps their seat in upright position

I need a travel pillow for an upcoming trip, and this looked different than most of the ones out there. In a middle seat on a plane, there is no place to sleep but forward. This pillow offers at least SOME comfort.I tried "Sleep-sitting" for 20 minutes in a chair leaning forward. It was not very comfortable. I then tried using this pillow. It did not 100% solve the problem, but it was much better and noticeably more comfortable than nothing at all!It appears to be well thought out. There's a nose cutout on top. You can also see how it relieves pressure on the arms. However, I found the material to be not as soft as some similar products. Also, the nose cut out seems a little small, so the bottom of it was poking my nose. Now, I've got a long face and a big nose, so your mileage may vary. While there is no perfect solution, this pillow is a improvement. It took me about a minute to inflate and 30 seconds to deflate. While this pillow is an improvement, I would not recommend it. There is a similar product by a different manufacturer that looks very similar to this one. (I reviewed it as well.) I found that other brand to have softer material, and the nose cutout was bigger so it did not poke my nose. This other brand of travel pillow also comes with a sleep mask and ear plugs. The face mask was no big deal at first, but then I tried it. It was even softer than the pillow and reduced friction and contact even more, making it more comfortable.I like the design and functionality of this pillow, but the material and value are not as good as other brands at the same price point.
