Worked well for simple USB test.

Too many times have I needed to test connectivity via USB and needed to use a DIY cable with stripped ends or had to cut another cable to make a test cable, but with the Meccanixity cables, I can now test without the need to DIY my own cables. The cables are soft and flexible. The strain relief on the USB side could have been a bit larger/thicker.The alligator clips have good tension but a bit more tension would have been better. The cables are a good length, approx. 62cm (24.5”).Plugged the cables into a charger and the power flow is consistent.Overall, I’d recommend these cables for your next project.

At first they look really nice. The materials feel pretty good and the wire is nice and soft and flexible. The clips are also pretty nice. However, I found when taking the covers off the USB side that there are cold solder joints. And when taking the covers off the clip side, I found the crimping quality to vary a lot. Some of the crimps are barely holding any wire in contact. These problems can easily cause poor conductivity that may create heat, reduce current throughput, etc depending on your application. If you are using these for very low current then I’m sure they will be fine. But do not expect to push them to the limits of USB 3.0 output or beyond. They are in fact about the stated length of 60cm or ~24”. And I’m sure I’ll find good use for them, but knowing the limits is very important. I will also probably go through and re-solder all the USB ends. There’s not much I can do to fix the crimped clip ends sadly. I may just have to test each cable’s current handling and tag the ones that don’t do well. They are pretty cheap so I guess my expectations were already low, but I really was hoping for better.

I bought this as a source to charge my water pump at the cabin. Plugs it to the charger and then to the pump! Great rig
