A well-reviewed, full-featured, and seemingly high quality saw, but the base lever detached from the saw body during the very first use! See photo. Pivot foot was therefore constantly loose and saw was no longer safe to use. Very disappointing. Returned.

This tool is strong and powerful. The power cord is robust and long enough. You can choose the power level, which is very appreciated.

Well balanced, so that it will not jump or vibrate as it cuts. With a good blade it cuts very fast in wood if in the oscillating mode. Installation and removal of blades is simple and easy - lift the lever remove or install. The air blown by the motor is deflected away and to the right. I owned a skill saw which blew it directly up in the face. The tool box actually has room enough to easily store the cord without spending a lot of time trying to hold the cord down in place while shutting the lid. There actually is enough room for the cord! It is also well balanced from front to back so that the pressure of holding the saw while cutting does not interfere with the cutting so that one can easily cut down - say a wall - following a line without the saw moving out of the line of cut! Highly recommend this tool.

It's a basic recip saw so it functions like most others but it's certainly earned its keep since purchase. Blade change is quick, guide adjustment is easy and it has enough power for the jobs I use it on. I own both Metabo and Hitachi tools all of which are dead reliable so the merger should be a positive thing.
