Had my older Hitachi unit for over twenty years, and still no problem, and I have used on many hard jobs.I hope this new drill, works as well.Purchased a cheap aftermarket chuck makes it easier to load drill bits.

They make a bigger hole hawg now so if you're looking for that sort of thing buy it.This is a smaller drill for piloting small wood screws and such but it'll run a wood bit and so on.The power is fine. It actually does a really good job wherever I've needed it.Super handy to have if you already have HPT or Hitachi/Hikoki tools.

I am a wood turner and I use this for power sanding. I also have the makita right angle drill for pier sanding. The mate of replaces a Souix that died. The Souix is the best for power sanding, but that drill hasn’t been made for 10 years. There a knockoffs of the Souix but they are noticeably lacking. The Makita come in second. The best feature of the makita is the long switch. The Matibo is nicely made, loads of power but the switch is not as friendly as the Makita. I doubt I will ever replace this drill as it should out last me. I never use the Makita for anything but power sanding, just doesn’t work well for other tasks. The Matibo works well for power sanding but also works well for close quarters drilling. I have drilled with a 1” Irwin 3 flute speed bit and it handled that in hardwood without any issues.
