This product is very well made and very well priced . The 3 finger holes are excellent to easly disconnet from outlet however I could not use it or my cooktop connection because the way the plug is oriented and the electrical cable is attached did not facilitate my needs.

I debated which plug to buy for my generator connection. I wanted one with the handle on the back because I want my fingers to be far away from the plug blades.I am very happy I purchased this plug because I don't think some of the other plugs would allow #6 stranded wire to bend as needed to make the connections. This plug comes with a full page of instructions for an electrical plug. At first I laughed but if you follow the instructions to the letter; wiring up this large gauge wire is relatively easy. The current carrying wires run essentially straight to the compression connector from the main cord. Only the #8 ground wire has to be severely bent to get to the connector. If you cut all the wires to the same length you will not get them all to fit inside the plug.I really liked that all of the current carrying connections have screw compression connectors similar to the ones on circuit breakers. This is the a very secure connection compared to what you see on most plugs. Only the smaller #8 connector for the ground used a screw that required wrapping the copper around it..The hardest step was pushing the fully sheathed cord through the strain relief. But it should function extremely well because of that tightness.

I did not receive an Orange one as in the photo, I received a Yellow one but this didn't matter to me. The design is well done and is sturdy. Its UL rated and was easy to install. If you plan to use this on anything less then #6 cable the hold down clamp will bottom out before it can clamp get to the wire.. I was using this on a 40 amp circuit for my generator so #8 was a bit small for the clamp. I just used electrical tape to take up the extra space. It has a nice handle and the prongs of the plug seem high quality. They are sturdily held in place. The terminal screws are nice and plenty big enough. The only real down side is the ground pin wire routing, with me using 8/3 with a bare copper for the ground it was fine for me but If was using a braided sheaved wire for the ground it might be difficult to get it routed correctly. It has a sharp bend radius and a tight channel to fit in. You would have a difficult time with sheaved #6 or #4 (if you used aluminum) I will say it would work fine with any bare copper #8 or #6 though.
