Compramos el producto para un sobrino que tiene 7 años y queriamos darle algo funcional pero al a vez sencillo. Los radios funcionan de maravilla, larga distancia, y son bien sencillos de usar y de uso rudo. Excelente compra.

Me gustó el diseño y las funciones, el problema es que dice que tiene un alcance máximo de 16 millas y al utilizarlo en espacio abierto no alcanza si 400 metros, la verdad algo deficiente para lo que se dice en el empaque

I own several walkie talkies and uhf transceivers..in this case I was curious about this like toy walkie talkie but with many features like weather forecast,weather alert,privacy codes for each channels and license free..I have a 10 years old son and I decided to test this device and I must say am quite impressed for the quality and range of course I own others more powerful models just getting 1 or maybe 2 miles more than this but this one does his job..I live in city with many obstruction and I could reach 0.8 mile in city,tomorrow I will test in open field and will update ..of course there are professional betters walkie talkies like the ones I own but into a city none can make it more than 2 miles..battery life fairly good for 4 AAA batteries.I recommend it for childrens but adults as well

I have several Talkabout FRS radios that have much better sound and range than these, but the antenna covers broke off and there is no way to replace or repair them. For the price, these Midland T20 radios are great. For one thing, the antennas will never break off because they are actually part of the case. These radios have 38 CTCSS codes, which is a great feature at this price. I use NiMH rechargeable cells because I use the radios every day. Unfortunately, these radios do not have much range. When we are about 1/4 of a mile apart, there is noise in the background because the radio is not fully quieted. One of us was inside of our house and the other person was 1/4 of a mile through woods. My older Talkabout FRS radios are fully quieted at two to three times the distance. The sound quality is decent, although it could be clearer. There is no display backlight. As for the 16 mile claim: Maybe if two of these radios were in two boats on a lake, or on two identical height mountain peaks on a clear day with low humidity on February 30th they might barely reach 16 miles, although I doubt it. I like that these radios do not have a call tone unless the call button is pressed. Some or most FRS radios transmit a call tone that cannot be turned off at the beginning of the first transmission, and it cuts off the first few words. These do not do this, but there is a button to send a call tone if desired. These radios have a roger beep tone which is a good feature, and it can be turned off. In conclusion: For radios that have CTCSS, weather, roger beep, and are fairly rugged (except for the display window, which is a thin flexible piece of plastic) these are definitely worth the price for casual use.

I bought these specifically because they said that they were good for 16 miles. I went on a walk and tested them on open ground with trees and buildings in between the two walkies. They didn't even work for one mile. That is 15 miles less than advertised.
