Not as hot as a corded, but gets the job done.

While working on a fairly extensive drip irrigation project with 1/4 inch tubing, I already owned a corded 120V heat gun but dragging a long extension cord across my yard became very tedious. This 18V Milwaukee Heat Gun was a life changer dealing with dozens of 1/4 inch tubing connections. It heats up very quickly and within seconds I could soften the tubing enough to make the connections.I used a 5,0AH Milwauker 18V battery and even after making connections for over one hour, the battery indicator had three bars left. The tool is well balanced and not tiring to operate. Just be cautious when setting the tool down and resist the urge to hold it under your arm while working. That metal tip gets HOT.This Milwaukee 18V Heat Gun is a great addition to my growing Milwaukee arsenal and I highly recommend it without hesitation.

Heats up very quick. I like that you can lock out the trigger so you can stand it against whatever needs to be heated, without needed to hold it in place. Cools off quickly. Doesn't use up the battery too quick.Exactly what I needed!

Well I'm a Milwaukee fanboy and when I find an m12/18 tool that would take the place of a corded or air tool? Count me in!However, this heat gun falls short. Let's start by saying this tool cannot fully replace a corded heat gun; and I'm coming from the perspective of a harbor freight special.First test with the gun was a baby 2.0 battery, and heating a Subaru quarter panel to roll the fender lip. I didn't have much expectation, but that battery died before the panel was warm enough to roll the fender.Next test was with a 5.0 battery to heat a WRX intercooler to turbo coupler. It's hard plastic and does not give any forgiveness when it's cold and you're trying to get it over the turbo. Took 40 seconds or so whereas the corded gun is 10-15. That works for me. While the gun was still hot, I heated the valve cover breather lines and fit them with ease. Battery still showed 4 bars.Final test, main reason I got the gun was for shrink tubing on wire joints. I decided to stick the big 8.0 battery for my vacuum on there and ran a entire stereo harness (16 wires) in about a minute. The kicker of this gun's less hot/air output is that o don't get a lot of heat where I'm not targeting it so I didn't overheat many wires like the corded gun tends to do. I usually solder then shrink one wire at a time with the corded gun, but this one allowed me to do them all at once without melting any shielding.Tl;Dr? This doesn't replace a corded gun, but it's great for heating stiff hoses and great at shrink tubing. I also got the m12 soldering iron and these two make a great combo for doing wiring without dragging out the cords or using butane.

For what I am doing with this heatgun it is perfect . I heat up coax wire in winter so ends go on easier or I heatshrink joints . It is not as hot as an electric heat gun but depending what you are using it for will determine if it is right for you .
