a lot of my coworkers have this same tape measure but the imperial version and it's a super good tape measure. it's pretty hard to find a metric-only tape measure in the united states tho! the best i'd found was a mixed measurement from a local vendor but mixed measure tapes aren't the greatest for a variety of reasons.this fits my needs perfectly tho, just with milwaukee didn't force me to import it from the united kingdom LOL

I recently did a project and was so sick of fractions I resolve to go metric as much as I can. This Stud has great trade reviews as durable & long standout length. Lemme tell you it’s true. This metric only was hard to find in the states, but thankfully this Brit ships to us here to help us try to gain measurement enlightenment. SAE needs to go away. The coated tape seems built to last, just right thickness that doubles near the end. It is deeply dished to help it retain it’s shape.*Marked on both sides*, it’s easy to read. Has a strong return. The end hook works on both sides and has a strong magnet (unlike their 5m/16ft or dual SAE/metric version).TAKE NOTE! The end hook also, of course, extends on the pull and shortens on the push to account for the thickness of the clip. I have noticed a lot of I’ll-informed reviewers complaining that the end hook has that slight amount of play, as if it is defective. It’s not a defect, it’s a feature. Without this measurements would be off by the thickness of the hook material. The belt clip is a stiff wire and seems durable but I never use them so that’s all I can say.It is a substantially heavy and thick lump of gear, so be ready for that. I read that Milwaukee tests it for a substantial drop height which surprised me a little since the case is dinosaur (plastic) and not metal. Forgive me for not trying to reproduce those test results. It cost a pretty penny but I’m glad I bought it. At my age and reduced activity this tape will probably outlive me.I did buy their Stud 5m/ 16ft model as well for times I’ll be forced to use SAE part of the time. For some cra-cra reason their is no magnet in the hook on the dual SAW/ metric hook though thankfully there is one in this all metric tape.Strongly recommended! Go strong, go smart. Keep it simple silly, and go metric!*

Massive, built like a tank... I've used the previous Milwaukee Magnetic 8m metric tape, that's sadly too expensive to buy at present. So I scored a bargain on a Milwaukee STUD 8m Metric tape. It features the same brilliant finger stop, double sided marked blade, firm clasp and Magnetic tip from the previous model, enhancing all of those features in it's own right. This blade feels even better, more robust than the old one, where wear and tear was always an issue. Nylon coating and reinforced blade tip? Yes, please! Very impressed with this one. Even though slightly bulkier and heavier than I'd say is the perfect balance for me. But the overall built quality and feel of it in the hand far outweighs the heftiness of the item. If it last about a year on site that's going to be the steal of the century for me. At 23.99... nothing comes close in comparison.Only minor gripe I've git with it - the architectural scale on the back is gone, but that's by no means a deal breaker or an issue for me.
