Really easy to set needle to zero when indicating a part. Works better and turns smoother than my Browne and Sharpe ever did, although it's made with more plastic.

Works very well. Smooth action. I wish it came with more accessories. Only had the 3/8 dovetail clamp. No extra tips. But overall, a good purchase

Good product at a good price. I was wanting a low price and a good enough tool. I would by Sterret, but too expensive for this job. This tool is "goldy locks" for my money and purpose.

Well known and respected brand name, basically an industry standard. This is a good price, and shipping was fast. It shipped in the in the typical cheap but functional plastic case, one dovetail included (I either need to quit losing them or they need to start including more with all indicators). I like the style of dovetail that was included (easy to tighten knurled nut), but some folks prefer the ones with the screwdriver slot.I use this for my "intermediate" range indicator, mostly to tram in CNC fixture alignments (automotive industry). I rough the fixture into alignment along a plate edge within .015" by eye or with a cheap plunge indicator, then use this type of indicator to get it down to .001" or so. Then I touch off directly on the fixture datums with a 0-4-0 .00005" Brown & Sharpe for the final little tweaks and a near perfect alignment. These are delicate, prescision instruments. With the frequency of use and conditions where I put these to work, wear is going to happen, and damage sometimes does as well. The Mitutoyo indicators I have had in the past have survived the abuse better than any cheaper indicators I have ever tried, and the level of accuracy remains high enough to pass industry certification just as well as much more expensive brands.Basically, this is a really good general purpose indicator.
