I have never been much a Gel Ink pen person before but these are great. They write smoothly and are great on all types of paper. As with Gel type pens you just have to be careful on the type of paper you write on to minimize any bleed through on the paper. Lighter writing, which this pen is capable of, will not make it bleed through on most paper out there. I use it for taking notes and the grip is comfortable and doesn't hurt my hand much considering I have cubital tunnel in my writing hand.The pen will last a good while depending on how much you write with it. I ordered the first set 2 years ago and just now replacing the one I have now that is still capable and is almost out of ink.
