The Chrysler 3.6 engine is plagued with the original plastic filter housings failing. Until now the only option was OEM plastic for big buck$ or cheap aftermarket plastic ones that didn't last long at all. Finally a better solution......this aluminum unit.The packaging is simple but presentation is very nice and makes the product appear cared for. I feel like when a company cares about packaging and protecting their product, then there is also care about the quality of said product. This filter housing comes in a plain cardboard box with a protective foam and plastic interior keeping everything safe and secure.This aluminum filter housing includes everything needed to replace it. The package includes the pre-assembled housing with oil filter installed as well as the oil temperature and pressure sensors. Also included is mounting bolts and the lower intake and upper plenum seals.Being a professional automotive technician, I have replaced 100's of these filter housings. I prefer to use genuine Mopar replacements but there's times when that is not a viable option due to price or availability. As long as this unit lasts, I will be using these from now on when the need arises.**NOTE** I strongly recommend (as I do), swapping out the original sensors from the old housing as I've had too many FAULTY new aftermarket sensors which requires doing the job over again to replace. Tips when installing: properly lubricate the o-ring on the portion that fits into the engine and properly and evenly torque all bolts to factory specs. Also be careful with the upper plenum bolts as they can strip easily if not torqued to the recommended 8-9 NM. Also, make sure to remove the installed oil filter and inspect it. I have received units with broken filters and I had to purchase a new one.So far, I am impressed with this housing and it is working great. It was installed on a 2014 Grand Cherokee. I will update this review if anything changes but I am giving this item 5 stars

Set up for drop in replacement. Don’t think this is an easy replacement it will take you longer than you think as you have to take the whole top off the engine. But it drops right in when you get there. I replaced the cap with an aluminum one that I had already. Comes with temp and pressure sensors already installed as well as a filter and intake seals. Literally everything you need to replace this on your own.

I received the oil filter housing and cooler, and upon opening it, I can say it looks like a high-quality piece! I haven't installed it yet because I'm waiting for my next oil change, but it seems to match the quality of more expensive brands available. The design is nice, and the overall finish is impressive. I'll provide an update after installation for more information!

The factory part is plastic? Really? So yeah, this aluminum is a great choice, obviously more durable than plastic. FIts, functions as designed and a great price. Getting down to this requires a fair amount of effort and tools. The actual installation of this is reasonably easy and fits well. Paying attention to how the seals fit is most important. Recommended
