I used this to replace a failed timer in my LV landscape transformer. It is the same toggle style so changeover was simple. The best thing though is how easy it is to program. First thing, the door opens down so it’s not in the way while pushing buttons. Easy choices for sunset on, sunrise off or putting in a set time for either. It also has a multitude of other options which I don’t currently need.Great product!

I needed a timer for my front porch and driveway lights. This did the trick. I leave while it’s light out and come home after dark. I was sick of turning the lights on too early but couldn’t see anything when I got home. Now they come on automatically at the on time I set and turn off automatically at the off time I set.Installation: fairly straightforward. You do need to know which wire is line and which one is load. I did a little research and learned that line is typically spliced and connected to other wires so this helped me know which was which. They are both black wires.It fits in the standard face plate too. I was worried since I had a double switch there but it fit perfect. I couldn’t find this answer ahead of time. Hope this helps.

Man, this is just what I needed for vacation control of exterior lights. Nope, it doesn't have all the bells and whistles like sunset timing, daylight savings time, randomizing and seven-day settings - but it also doesn't have a nine-page programming manual. I didn't need all the stuff, I just want my exterior lights to turn on and off in the evenings and mornings, with times I can set. Programming is dead-simple, and (I got the one with the decorative door) is printed inside the door. You won't need to keep the instructions around. Close the door and it looks much like a decora-style toggle switch; press the door for on-off manual control. Bonus: install and program instructions are in proper English, not the usual Asian "I think I can write in English" mess.It's not ridiculously huge and I got it to fit in a crowded three-gang box with standard depth - nice to not have to dig out the box and replace with a deeper one. It has double wire inserts for line, load, common and ground with one-screw locking (vs. the difficult to release single wire slots or wrapping wire around terminals), so wiring it up is fast and secure, and double inserts mean you can control two loads or daisy-chain line power to other switches, saving the need for more wire nuts in the box. It even comes with an extra door, and two pre-stripped common (white) jumper wires.If you need all the extensive programming stuff, this isn't the one for you, but I imagine for many people's needs, this has you covered, and the ease and speed of programming + a solid value price really makes it a five-star purchase for me.
