I just wanted to chime in here. Some of the other reviews I've seen are a little overly pessimistic.For me, this has been a great switch. It works as advertised and is exactly what I needed for my home network at a decent price.Yes, it runs a little hot. Yes it might fail (like mine did after 2 years). But the lifetime warranty with free 1 day advance replacement (in the US) will have you back up an running very quickly. Just keep a cheap spare switch on hand.

I have a system that covers users in apts on both sides of my house. Installed in each user's residence is a router hardwired to my switch. A 2.5 gig port in my router (ax11000), a 10gig Ethernet backbone, and a 10gig server is attached . This switch has already relieved congestion my system with only a basic Qos.

Dieser Switch (XS708Ev2) verfügt über zwei kleine Lüfter, von denen mindestens einer ein scharrendes, tickendes Geräusch macht, so als wäre ein Papierschnipsel drin gefangen. Eine Suche im Netz hat ergeben, dass dies typisch für die verwendeten Lüfter ist. In ca. einem halben Meter Abstand messe ich 37 dB(A), was den Herstellerangaben entspricht. Nichtsdestotrotz ist das Gerät durch eine ganze (leise) Wohnung zu hören. Ein Einsatz im Wohn- oder Arbeitsbereich ist damit nur für lärmunempfindliche Personen zu empfehlen.Die Konfiguration und Verwendung des Switches ist einfach und stellt keine Probleme dar. Es gibt auch nicht viele Optionen, die man konfigurieren kann.Die Verarbeitung und Materialanmutung ist hochwertig.

Hallo,sehr lange war ich auf der Suche nach einem leisen 16-Port 10GB-Switch. Der XS716T-100NES hat von seiner Ausstattung genau dem entsprochen, was ich gesucht habe. Einziges Problem an diesem ist die Lautstärke. Das konnte ich aber lösen (siehe Text weiter unten).Zum Switch selbst:Ich bin mit dem XS716T-100NES sehr zufrieden. Er wurde bereits mit der aktuellen Firmware ausgeliefert. Die Konfigurationsoberflächereagiert schnell und ist für mich übersichtlich.Ich habe mein NAS (bestückt mit 5 2TB Samsung SSD und 5 Seagate Ironwolf Pro 12TB) und meinen PC jeweils mit 2x 10Gb und aktivierter Link-Aggregation angebunden. 2 Ports sind über 10 Gb mit 2x Netgear GS110EMX-100PES Switches verbunden. 5 weitere Ports sind mit 1 Gb Netzwerkkabeln bestückt. Aktueller Stromverbrauch liegt bei ca. 38 Watt (EEE aktiviert).Die Konfiguration der 2 LAGs war problemlos.Nun zum Thema Lautstärke:Leider sind die ab Werk verbauten Lüfter sehr laut, auch wenn diese per PWM geregelt sind. Auch runtergeregelt geben diese ein unangenehmes Surren von sich.Es gibt aber eine einfache und spurlos rückbaubare Lösung, welche allerdings auf Kosten der Garantie geht (daher auf eigene Verantwortung und ohne Gewähr):Der Austausch der Lüfter durch 2x "NOCTUA nf-a4 x 20 PWM" Lüfter.Diese können ohne jegliche Umbaumaßnahmen direkt gegen die Original-Lüfter ausgetauscht werden. Die Stecker sind die gleichen und die Kabel sind auch lang genug.Sind die Noctua-Lüfter verbaut, ist der Switch praktisch unhörbar!

This is for the MS510TXPP model, I have been a network engineer for over 20 years. I was not sure this little switch could deliver everything it claimed to do.. my main priority was to QoS traffic for my gaming rig. I was able to do this and more. I tested QoS policies by marking a DSCP value and doing a packet capture on my Pfsense router and my dns cache server and I could confirm that the policies were tagging traffic correctly. once that was validated I then moved my critical (gaming) traffic to a strict priority queue! I was able to test iperf3 and got full line rate speeds with QoS applied! amazing, just amazing! I also used private vlan configuration to segment off my guest traffic and IOT devices which are dumped into a community vlan through the AP. one thing I was disappointed in and hopefully netgear is reading this.. there is no DHCP relay capability today 12/22/2017 on the vlans... this makes it hard to deploy "routed" vlans which out having to add an additional DHCP server layer2 adjacent to any routed vlan... you can of course use static IPs... but I dont want to manage static IPs.. maybe this will be available in future software releases... overall, this is an amazing switch and I am very happy with the features it provides.
