I noticed the cable would get unusually warm, but not by the heating element. The entire cable. One day it stopped working and when I unplugged it to look at it the plastic in the male usb portion was melted causing the contacts in it to sink and become incased the plastic.I decided to try and mod it my self after that because the cable is ridiculously short so why not. It's destined for the land fill anyway. I figured I could make the necessary changes my self using larger gauge wire because that was what I presumed the cause of the whole cable heating.I stripped the wire and what do you know, I was right. The wire gauge is around 32AWG maybe less (my calipers are very cheap). I would guess the idea was they cable is short so it shouldn't be a serious problem, but it is. That is way to thin. The specs of a USB power source and thermostat in the actual element aren't going to save your house from burning down when using unsuitable wire sizes. I lucked out because it broke itself before anything bad could happen, but that was solely luck. It could have just as easily remained in contact and continued to get hotter and hotter.

Excellent product! Warms up both my dolls openings at the same time. Once the lights turn off, you know it’s ready. Almost too warm if you jump right in. Give it a few minutes and it’s perfect ;)

Does exactly what it's designed to do—just plug it in, and it starts heating immediately. It quickly brings items up to body temperature, making it super convenient and efficient to use. The lack of an on/off button is the only minor downside, but overall, it's a fantastic addition to the collection and a handy little piece of kit.

It works, and does heat up. I washed them with warm water and regular hand soap, and they seem to be waterproof. The connector between the wire and heaters is rubber too, so I think there won't be any leaks if you submerge them. They do heat up to get pretty hot, but the main thing I would say is that they turn off if the inside of them gets too hot (over 40c or so, not sure I didn't really test that), rather than the outside getting too hot. Meaning if for some reason the inside gets far warmer than the outside, it will just turn off (and takes a little while before it turns on again).I found that these are pretty good at warming up soil for my seeds, as in winter it does get a little too cold for germination. Putting them directly in soil is pretty easy, but I wouldn't place them too close to the seeds if you're going to use them for this.As a side note, I got these at a much lower price than it seems to be right now. I got mine for $6 on Amazon, and I would say that if it's a higher price you can wait to see if it goes down.
