I recently purchased this inline vent to address some plumbing issues under my sink and in the basement. From the moment I installed it, all my problems were resolved. The inline vent is built to last and the quality is evident in its sturdy construction. Installation was a breeze, even for someone like me who isn’t particularly handy. The step-by-step instructions were clear, and I had it up and running in no time.Since installing the vent, I’ve noticed a significant improvement in the performance of my plumbing system. There are no more unpleasant odors or backflow issues. It’s truly made a huge difference, and I couldn’t be happier with the results.Overall, I highly recommend this inline vent to anyone facing similar plumbing problems. It's effective, durable, and incredibly easy to install. Five stars!

I am mechanically inclined, but I found this a worthy story to tell: It is amazing what happens when one of these things MALFUNCTIONS and doesn't open. QUICK BACKSTORY: Wife said " The kitchen sink is plugged up". So, I look, and sure enough is is backed up all the way into the sink. NO leaks under the sink. I auger the drain down to 25 feet and I DO get some stuff out. It runs clear for about 20 seconds, then backs up into the sink again. OK, so the clog moved beyond 25'. I buy a 3/8" 50' Auger and go all the way. At 50' I AM SURE I am into the main 6" drain which CANNOT be the problem since all the other fixtures work fine. Then I start thinking about how over the last couple of YEARS, I would occasionally get a sewer smell at the bathroom sinks and I notice that all of the sinks have one of these little gadgets on them. Until I moved into THIS place, I'd never seen one before. I manually press down on the spring assy in the kitchen one and the drain opens, water drops like a rock. MY GOD! it was this thing????!!!! But HOW? It has a weak spring to keep it closed BY DESIGN! 4 to 5 vertical feet of water SHOULD open it EVERY TIME! The answer: a little SLUDGY goo. Hardly enough to mention. BUT JUST enough to act like a ring of vacuum grease and prevent it from opening. THAT and I believe the units that are in there are NOT the proper ones and many years old. REPLACED ALL OF THEM since they're so inexpensive, and guess what: NO funky smells in the bathroom sinks and NO MORE CLOG. NOTE: I specifically picked THIS one because the other brand,() which looks similar AND is exactly like what I had in there, states that it must be 60 (SIXTY) inches MINIMUM above the trap elbow. I also confirmed that on the manufacturers website. MY installations are 8" or so above the trap. THIS one has a longer very thin spring which should translate to weaker valve pressure which in turn means LESS vacuum for it to open. As such I suspect it is indeed designed for a normal under-sink install. Hope this helps you :-)
