My partner wanted this for the spherical mold mainly, but I think I have fallen in love with the square tray, both are super easy to use and even on my first attempt the results are great.- Included funnels make filling the sphere tray easy- The silicone material used throughout makes the trays feel strong and long-lasting which still being flexible and easy to release the ice when ready- It is quite difficult to know how much you can fill up the sphere tray- The ice cubes are fun and long-lasting- Lids make transporting the trays when full easy and spill-freeWhen this set arrived I was first surprised just quite how large they were especially the spherical tray, both are larger than a ‘normal’ ice cube tray and as the spheres are bigger in every direction they seem particularly big. The cube tray is made completely of a soft silicone including the lid, this feels high quality and I was very happy with it, the spherical tray has a plastic base and a silicone lid, but at least in my experience when the ice is formed it sticks to the silicone and then when you take the lid off the spherical tray the ice comes with it which makes it easy to release. The sphere tray came with 2 tiny funnels which make filling it very easy, the only problem I had was trying to fill them the right amount, the listing suggests 95%, but as you can see from the included images, I hedged my bets and tried a different level in each, the one in the bottom left is definitely less than 95% full and when they froze ice had escaped out of the top hole of every one of the spheres. I’m sure I will get the hang of this soon, but let this be a warning to you, as it made the tray stick to the top of the drawer of the freezer and was a pain to remove. The ice cubes produced were great and you can see from the two images I have included of them out of the trays they look great, I particularly like on the square one that the top corners are slanted, which although doesn’t really add anything, I think it looks cool. One thing to note is that if you do use too much water in the spherical tray then when the ice is removed there will be a small nub where the water had frozen up through the fill hole, this is easy to remove though.Pros :- Good build quality and materials- Fun designs- Lids area usefulCons :- Difficult to know how much to fill them

I love a cocktail, but not a warm one. These big ice cubes that melt more slowly are definitely the way to go, let’s be honest if I wanted my drink watered down I’d go to a bad nightclub!I already have a square tray from Amazon made by Oxo Goodgrips but I was after a round tray for variety.Opening these I was surprised how flexible they are, I think the silicon is not that thick. I went straight in with the square tray. It’s very wobbly when filled so I had to put my hand under in whilst filling. Thankfully it comes with a lid however I really struggled to get this to fit properly, the lip doesn’t really seal.Anyway I found a frozen pizza (from 2013) which I stood the tray on to chill. The following day, unsurprisingly the water had become ice without any help from David Blaine so I gave it a whirl in a negroni-ish concoction (pictured). Cubes come out of the tray easily however the lid is now completely loose so doesn’t actually add any value. One down, one to go and the weather was hot so let’s get ice ice baby rolling! Literally, circular ice cubes. The tray has two halves, a bit like an Easter egg mould and a hole in the top that fits a small funnel which is supplied. After assembling I dripped the water in and much to my amazement it seemed to work. Alas, it works until you move, if you even breathe it immediately leaks. Once again the silicon seems too flimsy for the seals to work. I was undeterred and possibly slightly desperate so I put the tray in to a cake tin and then in the freezer on to the, slightly aggrieved, out of date pizza. As you can see from the picture the ice has leaked to the extent the circles are pretty much non-existent.To summarise, these don’t really do what they need to. Do they produce ice, yes but is it the size/style it should be no, and will it make a mess of your freezer yes. Do yourself a favour and buy the Oxo goodgrips square tray which is sturdy, sits in a frame and has a proper spill-proof lid.

This pack has the capacity to make 4 large ice balls and 6 large ice cubes. The size is perfect for days like this when small cubes disappear in less than an hour. I had an ice ball in a large gin and tonic last night and it was still going 2 hours later, albeit reduced in size. I think they work better with shorts/straight alcohol where there is no fizz. The pack comes with a little funnel which is cute and very handy! It stops you filling the spheres too much and allows room for expansion as well as making it easier in general to fill them. I made the mistake the first time of trying to fill it to the brim and the sides popped up once the ice had formed. This still wasn't a problem, but I will continue to fill them a little less.Be aware that they do take longer to freeze due to the size. I believe ours took at least 24 hours. The only reason for the 4 star is I feel the lid on the cubes tray could be a little more sturdy due to the weight it can take.Otherwise very happy and I will look to purchase more when the need arises!

You will definitely only need one lump of ice with these huge cubes or balls – they are enormous. The ice cube trays are made of silicone so are flexible for pushing the cubes out. The cube tray has a top to cover the ice which avoids small spillages and prevents freezer burn, but it is not a good seal, just places over with a slight lip. The round balls, which are equally huge, are easy to make and comes with a small funnel to pour water in. The instructions suggest filling to 95% but I found less than that expanded to fill the orb shape. The trays themselves feel good quality and can take a bit of bending and pushing to get the ice out, the cube ones in particular. The cube tray doesn't give perfect cubes because it is slightly wavy and flexible so doesn't set the ice into perfect squares.Overall, I thought the trays were of good construction but the size of the ice cubes and balls were actually too large for some glasses and threw out the gin when landing in the bottom of the glass. They are ideally, a little too large though there is a novelty factor. They're a good size for dropping quarters of lemon/lime wedges into so they freeze into the cubes and the orbs are good to drop juniper berries into.
