The light was purchased for my wife's sewing room. She was delighted with the size and style of the lamp, and particularly with the 3 levels of brightness. She has several other OTT lights, and found this one to be of the same quality she has experienced in the past.

The plastic filter that spreads light from the led bulbs became brittle after 3 years of use. When I checked out the light filter of the lamp, I noticed vertical cracks in the filter. As soon as I touched it lightly (I didn't use any force), it broke into pieces and started falling off. Without the light filter, the lamp is useless because the light is too bright and now directly falls onto the desk surface, making shadows. I guess the filter did not withstand the heat from the led bulbs because I found the plastic cover around the LED bulbs were burnt to yellow. I always felt that Ottlite desk lamps were like cheap Chinese-made plastics. Be aware!

I like the compactness and the great lighting it creates. Useful for small close up work.

"OttLite" lights are high quality. I love the brightness which is daylight type, around 5000K which is good for the winter blues. 3 settings of brightness. Very cool design. Perfect desk lamp.
