I have been washing and drying fruits and vegetables via sink and towel since I was a kid.... I didn't realize how much time I was wasting! I love that you can soak the veggies or fruit in the bowl until you are ready to drain. You just dump the liquid out and then hand spin. Pouring out any excess water, and then giving it one last spin. The lettuce is the item that I see the most difference with using this spinner. It dries more efficiently (than an old towel) between leaves, which helps with the longevity of the produce. The items itself is durable and the hand crank seems solid. I accidentally dropped the entire spinner and nothing chipped or cracked. I like that it's transparent, which allows me to peek at the produce throughout the entire wash/dry process.

My husband and I like to have dinner salads about twice/week. They consist of a large salad, topped with whatever leftover veggies I have on hand and then our protein, which gives our menus some variety. We're also avoiding an excess of carbs and fats. You'd think we'd lose a bit of weight this way but alas...no...but it's healthy and we are happy with that alone. This salad spinner is just what we needed for meal prep. For decades now, I've rinsed the Romaine and spread it out on towels to dry. Yes, this process worked but it took hours. So I'm so glad to finally have a salad spinner, which I'd considered for years. This spinner is a great size for 2 people. Putting it together and how to operate is fairly instinctive. Mine has a crank, not a pull-cord, which I like. The inner basket is a bit flimsy but if I'm careful, it should last awhile. I just have to be careful when putting the lid on the inner basket; it doesn't clasp in any way so will slip around. It's important to have it placed on the inner basket correctly; the bottom of the crank fits into a square indentation on the lid and that must be positioned correctly, so I do have to pay attention. But it's certainly not impossible. The current price for this spinner is $22, which is good for a starter model. It's always possible to get a fancier one if using this one works well for you.

We've owned our fair share of OXO-type salad spinners for years. The push button drive mechanism design is tried and true, but recent offerings haven't been necessarily made with durability in mind. We had to try this hand-crank offering from Ourokhome because we've never owned one like it.It's smaller than our current generic spinner. My biggest complaint about this particular design was that it's an exercise in patience to use, because the lid doesn't latch onto the bowl in perfectly each and every time. When it all lines up, the gadget works effectively if not efficiently. The basket is a decent size for preparing a salad for one, or rinsing a pound of strawberries. If you have children wanting to help in the kitchen, they'll gladly do however many batches as it takes. The basket also does a fair job with homegrown alfalfa microgreens and letting the hulls fall through the bottom when doing the final rinse before consuming. As for mung bean hulls, not so much because of their size.Another complaint is that the knob limits your storage options because you can't stack and balance similarly sized objects directly on top. Although I don't recommend it, you can invert the lid and rest it atop the bowl and hope that whatever you've stacked on top doesn't fall off and possibly break. The lid's top edge has no contour and doesn't stably rest on rim of the bowl.Having previously owned an OXO model, I'd have to give a hard pass on this salad spinner and the multiple design flaws.
