I have used this tent on the beach multiple times. It’s small enough that I can use a yoga strap and throw it on my back for a bike ride to the beach. I use separate stakes for the sand. I have also used it on grass for traditional camping in the summer and it was for the most part protective when it rained happened to overnight. There was wetness along the sides, but that was it. It is lightweight and easy to put together. I love that you can unzip either side panels all the way down to make sort of a tunnel or have three sides up. The little mesh windows are great because you can cover them up or open them for a little breeze. I love this tent.

Got it for a beach vacation. It was easy to install and to take apart. A little more challenging when there is a strong wind (in that case it’s a 2 ppl job). Loved how it provided us with some much needed shade and even we were not seating in it, it kept our belongings more secure and out of the sun. The best part was that it folded back easy into its carrying bag and didn’t have much sand sticking to it. Overall it was a great purchase and although we don’t vacation on the beach too often I can see how we will use it for other outdoors functions. Would recommend!

I have extremely photosensitive skin, thanks to a medication I have to take for my dry eyes (weird how that works, huh). I have gone from the person who would never skip a sunny day outside, to the person who has to wear at least SPF 60, reapplied every 45 min - 60 min to prevent burning, walking under umbrellas, trying to find breezy cover-upfor my shoulders and back, or just hiding inside, which is a lot easier, but very isolating. This is much better than a beach umbrella and a blanket for several reasons:- It's easier to secure into the ground than an umberlla-I get more shade than with an umberlla-being able to zip one side completely shut allows for privacy from passerbys, far less sand being kicked in, a wind break...-i find that this doesn't get lifted from the wind nearly as much-the bottom part of the tent; this is not just a pop-up top that sits on the sand like a canopy. This is a TENT . You can zipper it completely closed on all 4 sides, with 2 way zippers. The floor is water proof. I haven't used it outside during the rain to know if the top has any waterproofness, but I think that it is. There's pockets on the inside to keep smaller belongings in that you would like to keep off on the ground and out of the sun. This sets ip like a tent, with interlocking poles. I have tried to take down and store one of the pop-up style tents (the ones where you have to twist and fold the thick wires to collapse). This tent is easy to clean, and is small and light to store. I wish I had this when my kids were babies, for those midday naps when we would go to the beach. I think, yould sleep in this like a regular tent, in a pinch, but i would secure a waterproof tarp over it.

I actually own two of these tents now, hailing from company OUTDOORMASTER, so that says a lot about what I think of them. They are great quality, but I wanted to review each uniquely as, in the case of this particular model, while they are very similar, this one happens to come in a very specific teal-blue colour and white combination; a variety on the theme from their other regular sky blue in the series. And it also comes with a new moniker: Ocracoke Coast. If you know what is special about Ocracoke, it's an island just off of North Carolina's coast banks. Most of the island is part of the protected Cape Hatteras National Seashore. Which means outstanding natural beauty, pristine beaches with fewer crowds, and an abundance of wildlife will forever be wild and pristine. Which means absolutely nothing about this tent. Other than that someone at the company seems to like the Ocracoke Coast, and thought it would make a nice product variant.Any one of these tents by OUTDOORMASTER is well-suited for a coastline beach, with two separate zip-down door openings, light but durable fabric, unzip windows also, and a sturdy frame with your standard pegs to keep the tent in place. It's because of this two-door idea that this series of tents is a bit different from your average tent, allowing the beach breeze to pass straight through on a windy day. But the fabric of these beach tents also offer UPF 50+ UV protection, so even when the sun is out and hot, you've got a great open canopy to get out of the rays for awhile if you're not keen on a tan.The only thing I did not like about these tents, and I mentioned it on my previous review, is that the tent container bag to keep everything together during travel, is not as durable as the tent itself. I haven't had a problem with the stitching yet on this one, but my first one came apart when I first opened it, and required a hand-sew job to fix, barely. As I note then, if it can't hold the tent while I'm on the move, it makes everything more difficult. But I'm not taking any stars off for this, because the tent itself really is great, and as many as 3 people can lay down in it side by side without issue, so it's really quite spacious and strong for the price, which is why I got another. So whether you're on the coastal shoreline or just playing outside with the kids in the backyard, there's no doubt this is a great investment. 5 stars.
