Fun for kids to play with, or be decoration. Looks awesome in the dark, love the color changing options

I'm a little confused about the use of these fiber optic lights besides them being used to play with at a festival/rave. There'a really no installation besides plugging in the USB cord and plugging it in. It's super bright and functional. But for the price? This is very overpriced for what you receive. Whether it maintains durability is in question until it's put to use. I plan to simply add the light to our school store.

These lights are so fun! I got them for my children's play room, I mean, who doesn't love a set of color changing lights? But the fact that these are long has provided a sensory need I didn't even know my kids had! They love the feeling of the fiber optic strands and moving their hands through them. Having a visually colored remote is great because now my kids don't have to guess what color they are trying to get to, the just push the button and change the color. Love that they can be cut shorter if we want, but for now I'll leave them long.

First this thing is fun (at first) it's like a fiber optic whip almost that also glows with bead imperfections put into the lines to give it little "stars" if you will. I guess you could hang it up over a kids bed and it would be a soft and fun night light if you spread out all the fiber lines. Though it's not as bright as shown in the pictures on the listing but pretty close in total darkness. The fiber strings/lines can also get tangled up and twisted up quite easily. So really this is for putting into one place and keeping it there perhaps above a bed (one with a canopy or kid's tent would be cool) and leaving it there. It comes with a remote as well so that way easy to turn off and on. It also works while plugged into power so that means once set you could just keep it plugged in and not worried about the battery running low, but even that would take awhile since fiber is so efficient. Myself I have racked my brain what I could do with this and so far haven't figure out what, but that doesn't mean a kid (or an adult kid lol) won't see a great purpose for it and love it. I love lighting especially fiber based ones and that's why I got this unit. Eventually I will find a place for it, and you will too. (I would warn that this could be a choking hazard for younger kids as it you can get wound up in it, otherwise perfectly safe)

I love that this is rechargeable. The remote takes a coin battery (included) and there are all sorts of warnings not to eat it, but the device itself is rechargeable. I had a little trouble turning it on the first time, and had to press the physical button on the device a few times before I could get the remote to work with it. Once on, it responds quickly to the remote and makes such a beautiful cascade of silky, colored lights with little glints all through it—very pretty. I’m going to use it as ambient lighting at parties, as a static light. It has fast and slow fade rates that you can choose, as well as static colors and various flashing patterns. The fiber optic filaments simply hang, and I don’t see any way to use this as a whip or anything like that, but as a light feature, it’s pretty cool.
