I think they are amazing and strange all at once. They sure do the job of removing masking fluid

Really happy with this product. Removes rubber cement from Watercolour paper without any damage!! It's also easier to handle than the chunkier types of erasers, which always need to be trimmed.

When I read "Rubber Cement Eraser" I wasn't sure what to think. I am a leatherworker and in the course of making things, sometimes I use a bit of contact cement. It turns out that these things work wonders and are very durable. They do exactly what they claim to do. When rubber or contact cement sets and dries, simply use one of these little pads to gently grab, roll up and remove the adhesive residue from the surface it is stuck to. They work just like gum erasers except that they last much longer. The material these things are made of grip the adhesive residue and pull on it. Tip: Go in one direction. I chose to pull the eraser toward me. It worked beautifully. I have used it on dozens of glue-ups since I received it.

I use rubber cement to temporarily hold paper patterns to leather when I am cutting and punching holes in the leather. Once the pattern is removed, there is always a sticky residue from the rubber cement. I have tried rubber cement solvent to remove this with no luck. These little erasers work! it takes some effort and repeated stroking of the eraser on the leather, but it successfully removes all stickiness. In some places, there was some staining remaining, but, since it is the back side of the leather, I can live with that. Not sure how it would work with paper because it does take effort and repeated strokes. I don't think paper would hold up without tearing like the leather does. When too much residue builds up on the eraser, just peel it off and continue working.
