Smaller than expected, but worked well for clearing several inches of packed snow and ice off the driveway.Small rust spots appeared after only one use. Easy to clean off, but preventative cleaning is the way to go.

This shovel was more than I thought it would be. I like the design. It was well worth the money. It had more items to it than I thought it had. I am a tall person so I like the height I can get.

I have very mixed feelings about this product/shovel. First, for emergency purposes and/or bug out bags, this shovel would be alright. For a shovel, the head of the shovel is flat and very small. It will take a lot of shoveling to dig even the smallest whole. The cutting blade and the saw on the shovel are not sharp at all. The only sawing or chopping you will do is on very small items/branches. Branches that you will be able to break with your hands. Trust me, if you need a lot of equipment to go camping/or bugging out, you will still need an axe and a saw to go with this shovel. The good news is that this Emergency Tool/Shovel, is exactly what it declares - For Emergencies. Also, for tall people, you will have to buy an extension which they do have for $10.00. The extension is only for the 31 inch shovel. It is compact, fairly lightweight and has a good bag with molle straps to attach to a backpack. You won't want to put it on a belt. As far as the other tools that come built in with this shovel head, fire starter, whistle, etc. - just think of this as an emergency folding shovel. If you think of it that way, you will be alright with it. I did try using it today when I got the shovel, and as stated above, it will take a lot of strokes and shoveling to dig even the smallest hole. I'm keeping it for the trunk of my car just in case I ever get stuck in mud or a snow storm. I will also have it available in case I ever need to bug out. My suggestion, just buy a lightweight folding saw, lightweight military style compact shovel and a lightweight axe. You get what you pay for.

This is something like a garden spade in size, but it is built well enough to handle some hard use. The handle parts are made of sturdy tubes. The accessories work just as described and intended. Read the directions carefully, as they state to not use all the handle pieces for things like chopping to avoid too much stress on the various parts. Can is dig a hole? Yes. Does it chop? Yes. Can it spark a fire? Yes. Does the saw work? Yes. Does the knife work? Yes. Does everything work as well as a dedicated full-size shovel, a hoe, an axe, a firestarting kit, a handsaw, a hunting knife? No. But they can do the job in an emergency.Great to have on a backpack for general camp use. The pouch works great for portability. Also good if you want something to toss in the trunk of a car just in case you end up in a soft patch of dirt or snow and need a quick tool to help you get back on the road.
