Edit. Had to take this down a star. Not getting any response on dimming. Other same price range kits include automatic dimming. if you want this to dim at all, there is no documentation. This is a 2019 model that the maker stopped making, that used a red and white cable, whereas you are supposed to hook to parking/DLR circuit (what they all "width light" , and then every time you get in the car, flash your parking lights five times, and then one step for each step down in brightness. In other words you need to flash your parking lights quickly TEN times, every time you get in the car in the evening, including doing it again when you stop for gas etc. it does not even remember last brightness state. This is a likely to age your expensive stalk based parking light switch, or worse yet your CANbus, with ten times or twenty as many cycles per year than it was designed for. Those are $500 repairs. The smart alternative is to go out, buy a momentary switch, cut into your dash to mount it, and then get out all your stuff and run that through the dash to the white cable and an an additional ACC fuse tap. You can, as an alternative, sacrifice a switch and circuit on the device itself and run the write wire to to positive of one of the 5 amp buttons. But when I tried that half the time I set the lights into strobe mode, which made the vehicle look like a carnival act. This design was the 2019 model of this generic 8 gang design, and since then the current models have moved onto an automatic dimming system with a light sensor.Between having to buy fuse taps, included in other sellers packaging of this, the lack of workable dimming, makes this a poor purchase compared to current versions of this that are selling for 20 bucks more. Having a strobe effect that will probably just get you a ticket, is silly when you consider that you can't even easily dim the panel. Part of the entire point of these is to isolate your non-oem added accessories from the car's increasingly sensitive computer monitor and CANbus systems. For the maker to have a system where, in the end, after isolating from the main system., instead of a simple dimming sensor or ON BOARD dim button or sequence, you are supposed to hook up to parking lights (always canbus) and cycle it over and over, is just mind boggling.----original review:I've been testing my upcoming setup using a 12 volt power supply, and some lights and accessories and this kit. I will be installing soon, but testing almost looks good. I am waiting for an answer on dimming feature of claimed 100%, 80%, 60%, 40% and 20% backlighting, the mechanism of which is not explained in instructions. You get a connecting cables to battery, to ACC, a good solid state relay plus fuse/distribution for under the hood, inside the vehicle weight gang switch pod, a proprietary cable to connect switchbox to relay/fuse box, and a fair amount of mounting hardware that allows you several placement options. If you are guessing that a factory makes several brand and several no brand kits like this, you are correct. It seems absolutely 100% identical in every way to a couple of brand name kits. That could be identical product, or as we see sometimes with knock-offs, it could be older versions or production batches that had quality control issues.I will say, for the price of about eight bucks, unless you are sure you have short runs that getting the 47" extension to the cable that runs between the fuse and switch box is a good investment. The name brand cable is nine feet, this cable is eight feet.If you are considering getting the six gang, get the eight even if you are not going to use all the switches. The eight gang is not just two more switches, it is a better switch box. Smaller and more solid. The only minor dings I would give this, is that one cannot disable some of the wiz bang nonsense extra "features" that makers of east asia electronics insist on including. I do not want to accidently set in strobe mode and such. and it is a pain to cycle through those modes. Reminds me of tactically flashlights that have five or seven absurd modes.I also would prefer backlight to properly work automatically, as it does with versions of this that are a few bucks more, or with dash lights' dimmer. I suggest you not put this in your line of sight because it will be distracting while driving at night. There are at least a dozen install tutorials on Youtube. Beyond that hit up your vehicles user forums, to see best location to pass through firewall and mount location ideas. What I used:1) user forums for my vehicle to get idea of mounting places under hood and inside of cabin and location of cable passthroughs through firewall2) a few rubber grommets.3) some of my kid's playdough to test height of fuse box at mounting position (so It doesn't get smashed putting down hood).4) a mix of 16 and 14 gauge automotive wire to wire my led aux lights and other accessories to this.5) the proprietary extension (you can instead cut and splice longer basic automotive wire if you wish)6) wire loom to protect wiring.7) an add a fuse (included with some of the other brands, not included with this)Good luck!

This is like another switch I got on Amazon. The six gang is identical, control box, switches, stickers the only difference is no shielding on the switch cable and this comes with a breaker that doesn't have the "reset button cover issue" other companies have. The eight is better. Better mounting options than the six and it has positive and ground spots on the control box that my current six doesn't. With it I have to separately ground everything. With this you can run all wiring to the box. So much neater and cleaner. Why did I mount the six and not get this? It wasn't available. Now I have it and am most likely swapping. Anyone who modifies a jeep knows how quickly it can get out of hand. Suddenly a six isn't enough. This has a good range of output amperages and the all important mounting bracket, trust me it matters. After installing I would gladly play more for the eight than the six just for the bracket and optionsit has. No shielding on the control cable doesn't matter if you can't properly place the control box. I like that its dimmable, my other isnt. Even the stickers are better. The instructions are really good, my other they were non existent. That matters to those new to this kind of thing. I'm glad I got it even if it is after installing the old one.
