I love these pants, which we're mostly using for a sort of pirate-y garb at Faire. The ties at the ankles are a good length, in that they don't drag underfoot. They wash up well, without bleeding colour, and the elastic waist has enough give to it that both my husband and I can wear them. (We went with size XL, and it works well for a size 38 waist and a size 40.)

These are not comfortable pants. The fabric is stiff, rough cotton. We ordered the brown in a medium for my husband, who wears 32/34 pants, and the waistband was a bit large. I had to take it in. The brown color pants are a tiny bit see-through, so wear appropriate undies to minimize the effect. All in all, my husband feels positively medieval in these pants, so they do the job.

I bought pants for a Renaissance Faire. Upon tying the drawstring the casing ripped by two inches exposing the white elastic because the material is EXTREMELY thin. I had to sew a patched casing for the elastic and drawstring -I didn’t have black material so I just used blue. (The Faire is 3 days away.) I don’t recommend these pants at all.
