Perfect solution for my tent rain fly. Combined it with reflective guy line to be able to see at night. It is so easy to adjust the tension on the rain fly so it is just right.

I'll admit I didn't do my usual due diligence when ordering this project. If I had, I likely would have realized these were too small, so that's on me.At the same time, the line they have in the product photos looks quite a lot like paracord, and 550 is the "usual" size of paracord. I won't go so far as to call it false advertising, but they sure could have done a better job of making it clear that this tensioner will not fit any but the smallest diameters of line.I ended up just using a midshipman knot instead.I probably won't bother to return them, but I can't think of any kind of line I would need a tensioner for that would actually fit in these. Even worsted weight yarn would be a challenge to get through those holes. It's been a while since I got the tent out, but I'd be kinda surprised if the guy lines that came with it could fit.

These seemed like a good deal because of their small size, light weight, simplicity, and low price, but in practice they don't work as described. Over the years I have accumulated several types of small guy lines for tents, and I found four types between 1mm and 2mm in diameter (as specified in the listing) made from nylon, Kevlar, Technora, and Dyneema respectively. These tensioners would not grip any of them, or on 2.5mm Dyneema. They did grip on 3.5mm Spectra (which is similar to Dyneema), but no one would use that for guying a tent.

These are smaller than I expected, if you carried them in your pockets U would probably lose a few of them. They weigh nothingOther than the size issue they will probably work very well once you buy 3m cord.
