I like to split my tall wire shelves into two lower shelves on wheels. Unfortunately, they do not sell the threaded inserts separately to add casters. These fit perfect onto the smooth side of the tubes. Important notes, these are for the 1 inch exterior diameter tubes and do not install them on the threaded side of the pipe as they do not come off once installed. Yes you definitely need a hammer or a strong mallet to pound these in so make sure you align them straight first so they go in easily.UPDATE. So after using these for a while I had a few fail: if the shelves are loaded and the weight exceeds 250-300lbs, the little wings bend and the casters are now off center and bend out. I wish the threaded adapters were sold on Amazon... So unfortunately, stuck with replacing these as some of them fail...

I attached these posts to a wire shelving unit in my workshop. I matched them with 4" casters of the same thread and the result was awesome.Great item for any workshop!

Perfect Fit for the heavy duty 1" Chrome Wire Shelving units that have hollow bottoms. Allows you to install 3/8"-16 casters (wheels) on those shelving units. I've been going crazy trying to find something like this that would work, paeticularly because it's so hard to describe what I'm looking for! These are perfect!

Perfect solution for my needs. I am building a shade structure with 1" EMT, 20'x20'x8'high. I do not have a vehicle that can transport 10' and 8' poles so I have to cut them. I tried couplings to put them together but the joint is flimsy and I was concerned about the structural integrity should they come under stress from winds or people being careless. These threaded inserts solve my issues. They provide a tight internal thread to both ends of the EMT. I am using a 3" rod to hold them together. This is providing a very good connection with the structural integrity that is satisfying to me. It is not weak like a coupling option. This is the right solution. Also, I screwed up and initially ordered the wrong size. I bought 1" EMT so I bought the 1" inserts. The EMT was slightly bigger than 1". How was I supposed to know? I guess that whole measuring thing does come in handy. The seller took back my mistake without issues and refund received. They also have a wide selection of sizes to choose from so thank you. Measure twice cut once. My mistake.Highly recommend this solution and the seller. As I cut my EMT I am marking on the tube in black as AA, BB, CC etc (see pics). This way when I put the halves together it is from the same tube and they should line up as close as possible precut. The red mark on the rod is in the middle at 1.5" I threaded one side up to the red line and then with my thumb held it in place as I screwed in the other end. A little tricky at first but second nature now. So so happy with this solution.
