As with many Top-Ex brand hats this hat ran very large: I measure about 24" and usually wear a XL or 7 5/8 hat and the L/XL size I ordered had to be cinched down substantially to get it to fit -not sure I wouldn't have been happier with the M/L size though be fair the actual volume of the crown was just about right but if you like a snug fit and are on the borderline with your measurements you might be happier ordering a size smaller than usual. The mid-tone Gray color I ordered is light enough to reflect the Sun but dark enough to look good with just about anything I'm wearing. Hat is very much as pictured and described on the website and that is a good thing because it is of better design and quality than my previous Top-Ex hat. If you are looking for a hat that not only keeps the sun off but has substantial cooling characteristics this is the hat for you - the full 360° brim to top of the crown perforations in a light breathable fabric will not disappoint - as nice a fabric in a packable hat as I have ever encountered. Folds easily to a compact size. With not too much effort I was able to get the wire reinforced brim to flatten out substantially so it doesn't look too floppy and if you want you can use the snap up sides give it that sporty outback look. Unlike a lot of the competition it does not include a clip to hold the chin strap out of the way but looping it with a quick knot on the cinch strap solves the problem. As far as packable cooling sun hats go this one is hard to beat - I really like it a lot - it is a good value and I recommend it.

I had hoped to get a good proper wearing of this on a bright day, but that hasn't happened yet, so this is based on my initial observations. My absolute favorite aspect is the ability to size the hat just by tightening a strap around the top. I have a larger dome, and my other hats are definitely too tight. This one is actually a little lose, which is a nice change of pace. Any hat that's breathable is a plus, and I know it will offer some nice shade on my face. It's also got snaps for the times when you just want to put your flaps up and not worry so much about the shade. I'm looking forward to testing this out on a hot sunny day, and it feels like it may be a little water repellent. I want to give that a try also as I'm sometimes doing some unforeseen yard work during heavy rain storms.

If you want a floppy, very lightweight and airy hat with a wide brim -- and you don't care if you look a little silly -- this is a great hat. It's all of the above, which makes it perfect for being outdoors in the sun. The brim is wide enough to keep the sun off and the fabric is designed for maximum ventilation. The downside is the size. It's offered in "Medium-Large," "Large-X-Large," and "X-Large-XX-Large." These are not usual size categories in the U.S. which makes it difficult to determine a correct size. And no information is provided on the product page to help you size it.I normally wear a hat size 7-3/8". I figure that makes me a "Large," but is that a "Medium-Large" or a "Large-X-Large"? I took a guess and ordered the Large-X-Large. Wrong guess. This hat is too big for my 7-3/8" head. Strongly suggest the product company provides a size table on its product page; or at least use standard sizes, like Small - Medium - Large - X-Large. The consumer shouldn't be making guesses.

Great hat so far! It fits me well and looks ok for outdoor casual use. I like the wide brim and ventilation capabilities, but don't know yet how it will do in rain.

This brand is not especially targeting me - I don't have an XL head - I'm just size 58 cm, but the M/L size of this hat fits perfectly, per their sizing chart. This is a well-made hat with nice features - the brim can be buttoned on the sides, and, more importantly, the hatband can be tightened with a drawstring to keep it snug on your head. The brim is wide enough to provide really good sun protection for my face and ears. The ventilation holes all around are welcome for helping to stay cool. The only thing missing is a mesh lining to keep the top of my head from directly contacting the hat. That addition would make it cooler. As is, it's still not overly hot in moderate temperatures.Overall, this hat is a good value for those of us who need to be careful about sun exposure.
