This boat hook is inferior. The first time we used it, it broke in half (where it was supposed to telescope) and fell into the water. It was only glued together, so a complete loss. Don't buy it.

On the bad side, this extending hook pulled apart on the second use at the dock. The good side is that this hook floats when the pieces fall in the water so i was able to retrieve the pieces. Will have to screw the segments together to use this with my boat at the dock. If you want a dependable extendable boat hook, this might not be the one for you.

I insisted on getting one of these after many trips close to shore to retrieve lures. Catching branches is no fun as is so having this ready to help pull us in or push us out from the tight spaces without having to stick my hand into the unknown woods is AMAZING!! Highly recommend
