I really wanted to like this kitchen gadget because it seemed so promising at first. However, I found it disappointing in practice. While it does function as intended, it leaves behind too much of the corn on the cob, which defeats the purpose of using it. I expected a cleaner, more efficient way to enjoy fresh corn, but instead, I spent more time trying to salvage the leftover kernels than I did actually enjoying the corn. Overall, it didn't meet my expectations.

This is very easy to use and to clean and it quickly gets all the kernels off the cob. Good value and well constructed. I recommend it.

This is great for corn and it works great for cheese and almost anything else! I even use a separate one take out the insert & use it to grate my laundry soap bar for making your own natural laundry detergent. Excellent quality & love the container to hold everything you grate!! Easy peasy to use!

I normally stand my corn in a wide flat bottom bowl, put a corn skewer in the pointed end, and shave off the kernels with a sharp knife. I tried a hand held corn stripper, but it was too hard to use. Between holding the hot corn, and containing the kernels, it wasn't worth it. Being out of season, I found a four pack of corn on the cob at the store, but the ears were fairly small. Running the ears down through the stripper only removed about three sides of the corn, but it was fast, the kernels went into the container, and the holder worked well. I have seen other strippers with an overlapping blade so it can stretch for bigger ears, but keep a tighter circle for smaller ones. With bigger ears this one definitely would have been more thorough. I used a sharp knife to get the last side, while using the pusher provided to hold the top of the ear, and it worked well. It was time-saving, and neat enough to use. It survived the dishwasher just fine, but make sure that you remove any debris from the seam in the blade, as kernel skins want to get wedged in and won't get washed out in the dishwasher.

unfortunately the lid does not seal securely and moves around when you are using the grater, which was the main purpose i got this for, so i have to rate it based on how frustrating it is to have the lid sliding and moving around while using it for something tedious like grating ginger.
