A bit of backstory, I've spent the last month looking for a new bedroom fan to replace the ten year old junk fan we had. I've bought about 10 different fans ranging in price from $30-75 from Walmart, Amazon, Sam's Club and Home Depot. Tried 3 different Lasko 5 blade DC motor fans from Sam's too.Every single one had badly balanced blades and mediocre stability. The AC motor fans weren't much more efficient than our old junker. The old 16" fan used 20-60w between the 1-3 settings.I took a chance on this Pelonis based on the reviews and the manual. The base is heavy and stable, the motor is quiet and as efficient as comparable DC motor fans, the features all seem to work well, and it's super quiet.Using my power meters, this fan pushes an impressive amount of air under 10W and tops out at roughly 37W at max power. Half of the power range is under 10W and moves a great deal of air. It's impressive how quiet everything is and how nicely balanced the blades were. Even the packaging was better on this unit vs everything else. The assembly wasn't too bad, the fit between the main post and the motor unit was a tad snug. Working the fan cage ring on took a few minutes too, but overall I'd say it was quite easy. The only negative I can see is the price and the 1 year warranty, but I feel that I got my money's worth if this lasts a few years. Either way, the power savings are significant.Old fan at "2" ~40w running almost year round = ~$40/yr in electricityOld fan at "3" ~55w running almost year round = ~$56/yr in electricityNew fan at "6" ~10w running almost year round = ~$10/yr in electricity - similar airflow to "2"New fan at "8" ~15w running almost year round = ~$15/yr in electricity - similar airflow to "3"

I was surprised it came better than I thought. Wasn’t sure how it would come as some reviews has stated is cheap and breaks. The quality isn’t as good as I’d expect due to the price being so high. It is mainly plastic but it does have lots of air flow and it’s quiet enough. I don’t regret the purchase, over priced but works as intended.

A major upgrade from a crappy Canadian Tire special fan I purchased a few years ago. The set up was quick and painless if you've ever set up a pedestal fan before (if not, instructions were good!).Very quiet, 12 speeds is probably overkill. Only complaint on initial impressions is that the remote only works under 10ft from the fan. Not so good for large rooms and kind of pointless for me.This will be going in my bedroom so I'm happy it's quiet!

Excellent pedestal fan, I highly recommend for next to your treadmill. If you are looking for a tornado strength torrent of strong wind from a fan like something in a big hot garage or warehouse, maybe keep looking. But if you want a QUIET fan that puts out an impressive amount of air, has an impressive 12 speed settings from good breeze down to little puff of wind, this is an excellent value for 80 bucks. It only tilts one notch so just be aware of that this is not designed to aim up to the ceiling or down to your feet. The only negative is the assembly instructions are laughably inadequate like someone threw it together last minute before quitting time and said "oh that's good enough, they'll figure it out." And you will figure it out, it's easy, just toss the instructions. Hate over-complicated controls? Then you will love this fan's SIMPLE easy controls with no complicated buttons you'll never use, and a good little remote. I was really impressed with NO loud annoying wind roar or hum, it's quiet for a big fan and that's a good thing.

I am using the fan in my sunroom and it works very well. It is quiet and moves ample air.Pros. Nice looking fan, seems solid and well made, quite, moves lots of air.Cons. The remote has to be pointed at the front of the controller or it will not work, when you put the main shaft into the base make sure you line the notch in the shift with the extrusion in the base, putting the safety guard on was difficult but my wife got it on after turning into a wolverine a few times, they should improve that asap. It is a nice fan but I do think it is over priced.
