Decades ago, I used Penn reels saltwater fishing for salmon, and they were invariably excellent reels for many, many years. This one, not. After three seasons of fresh water use only, the drag is extremely inconsistent, the line counter is erratic and hard to see, and the clicker will not stay in the "off" position. I have looked after and maintained this newer reel just the same as my older reels. Not impressed with this Penn reel at all.

They wouldn’t hold enough line for me 4 sea fishing trawling so I sent them back and bought the 30

Decent for the price, definitely not as nice as the squalls but much cheaper.
