I get that it’s a Peli case, I’ve used loads of them over time to transport photo gear, and I know how tough they are. That’s not in question.But I am somewhat annoyed that I spend a considerable sum of money for it to arrive damaged.You’ll see that the packaging had a screw lodged in it - the same type of screw used to assemble the case. And you’ll see that this has scratched up the case in transit.I’m too close to my travel date to return it now, and yes, it’ll end up with far worse scratches over its lifetime, but this is a poor start.Other cases I’ve bought from Peli have been surrounded by foam in transit - which would’ve prevented this. This one was just shipped in a cardboard box with no other packaging (apart from a thin plastic liner).Not impressed folks.

Ich brauchte einen robusten Koffer der einiges aushält und den ich nach Möglichkeit an die Gepäckablage in den ICE Zügen mit einem Stahlkabel anschliessen kann um ihn nicht immer im Auge behalten zu müssen.Man fällt auf mit dem Koffer und ich würde es strikt empfehlen den Koffer IMMER anzuschliessen, wenn ihr keinen Blick darauf habt, er zieht Langfinger magisch an.Ich habe den Koffer Probegepackt- 3 Jeans / 2 lange Jogginghosen- 4 Short Sleeve Tshirts- 2 Longsleeve Tshirts (etwas dickere aus merino)- 7 Unterhosen & 7 paar Socken- 2 sehr Dicken Hoodies aus 350gsm Fleece- 4 Oberteile mit ca 280gsm- Windjacke & Regenjacke- Kamera Cube mit EOS R6 und zwei Vollformat Objektiven- Zwei kleinen Handtüchern und einem grossen Badehandtuch- Macbook Air 13/ Ipad Pro / Lenovo Thinkpad 13 im Deckel- Laufschuhe für Sport, kurze Sporthose und Shirt- Miniföhn & Glätteisen mit 2 großen Haarbürsten- Duschgel & Sonstige Körperflegeutensilien wie Deo, Nassrasierer, ElektrorasiererDanach war der Koffer prall gefüllt. Ich denke ohne das Kamera Zeug kommt man mit dem Koffer für einen 14 Tage Urlaub zurecht.Ich habe für mein Kamerazeug noch einen Peli 1510, meines Empfindens nach wirkt dieser deutlich massiver und sicherer als die Air Reihe, als ich diesen Koffer das erste mal ausgepackt habe, hab ich mich gefragt „Und dafür hab ich 500€ gezahlt!?“ Der Koffer hat die gleichen Zertifizierungen wie die „Non Air“ Modelle also vertraue ich dem mal. Die UVP von 800€ finde sich aber viel zu viel.

After looking at a lot of rolling suit cases, including some upwards of $1500, this was the only one I knew would stand up to the abuse airlines will put luggage through. I’ve seen Pelicans get run over by trucks and not miss a beat. One trip down with this case reaffirmed it. The quality is typical Pelican - nothing but rugged and utilitarian. It’s got locks built into the latches, several interior folder pockets on the inside of the lid, I can’t imagine the wheels ever breaking but if they do, they come off as a unit for easy replacement, the long drag handle stows tight and secure, the lid has steel reinforced grommets for a more serious lock should you require it - all for a fraction of luxury suitcases that would surely fail well before this one ever will.The only downside is the weight - it’s pretty hefty so you hit 40lbs pretty quick filling it up.

This case will last forever, but I kinda don’t like the blue color and wish I went with black or grey.

The one-star lousy rating is for the product listing on Amazon, not for the product itself. The listing stated "Pelican Air 1615 Travel Case - Suitcase Luggage (Blue)", however, the case I received is BLACK. So, now, how am I going to return this bulky and heavy product half-way round the world since I got this item shipped International to Singapore?
