I used trackballs for years and then for some reason they became hard to find and expensive if you did find them. I am back on my trackball game now that affordable units like this have hit the market. This one works great. Its comfortable to use and decent looking too. I do prefer rechargeable devices but I don't mind the need for batteries. I keep small cases on hand for the handful of devices in my home that still have a need for batteries. This comes with a USB dongle and once you add batteries and plug in the dongle it works. Sure you can go in and tweak settings but as it is it works. This one went on one of my computers in my workshop for my CNC router and I couldn't be happier.

I have a couple of the logitech track ball mice for my home and office, but decided to try this out.So glad I did! This is a great mouse for the price! Works just as good as the Logitech's I use it every day for my field laptop. Doesn't feel like a cheap piece of garbage either. Well made, quality materials and never once had a failure to track. Great for precision work as well which I do a lot.Overall, couldn't be happier! Would definitely buy another one.

I pretty much only use trackballs, and have for years; this model from Perixx was an extra pickup on Amazon Vine, and I'm mostly stoked with how it performs. However, the single connection method (USB-A dongle) has relegated it to my spare parts bin, and I'll stick with my tried and true MX Ergo for multi-connect (and rechargability). I would have absolutely given this a dedicated home with my mobile gig kit (Surface tablet) if it had BT connectivity, but unfortunately it doesn't offer anything other than one dedicated (USB-A!) dongle. I don't mind the need for AA batteries rather than an internal battery, but the connection limitations just don't work for me. Four stars because it'd still work perfectly in a desktop setup, office workstation, or anything else where that dongle can live long-term.

This mouse has a very rough feel. It doesn't roll smoothly, and drifts a tiny bit at the end, so it doesn't feel accurate enough for my tastes. It could be more ergonomic. It is useful in a pinch when you don't have much space, but it might make sense to invest more in a better product if you are looking for long term use.

When I first saw this, I wanted to try it out. I've been using Logitech's versions (M570, M575) of this for at least 10 years. So, I wanted to see how a product at about half the price would compare.First, if you have never used a trackball, you may not like this. It is definitely an acquired taste. But if you like the overall operation, you will appreciate that extremely small footprint, since the device doesn't move on your desk. The trackball feels every bit as smooth in operation as the other brand. The switches feel identical. Even though the contours of the device are very slightly different, I think if I took a blindfold test, I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. The switches are in the same place. The Perixx has an added button called DPI, but it is only mentioned on the packaging. It controls the speed of cursor movement of the trackball. The only way I could suggest to improve on this would be if the dongle was configured with both USB A and USB C connectors. The only real complaint I can muster about this is that it goes to sleep after some idle time (I don't know how long). In order to wake it up, I had to press the DPI-up button below the scroll wheel. I couldn't find any mention of it in the manual. It's not a big deal, but it does take a bit of getting used to.tl;dr At about 60% the price of the higher "name brand," this mouse feels and works every bit as well.Get a pair of AA batteries (not included), plug in the USB dongle and you're ready to go.
