I use these bad boys for pouring trolling sinkers for steelhead fishing with a bobber they are the perfect eyelet size for my mold . The stainless wire is super strong and you will never loose that big metal head because of metal fatigue again with these crane swivels. Well worth the high price , I fished 3 float trips on the Grande Ronde last month and never had to change my weight. We like to bump the bottom so the weight takes a beating every cast. These swivels are insanely strong for their size. Very cleanly made.Brilliant for reel on rigs. The #1/0 - 511lb pass the tip rings of most of my boat rods.Be aware, a mono to metal eye connection is heavily compromised when the diameter of the metal eye no longer exceeds the diameter of the mono. The metal will cut through the mono.Be aware, skippers like something they can get their gloves on.

These swivels have amazing strength for their size. Their secret, that's not so secret, is that they are 100% stainless steel. The stainless steel bodies on these instead of brass bodies like on other "stainless steel"swivels is what lets them be so strong and yet so small. As an engineer who deals with different types of materials regularly, I was somewhat baffled as to why most stainless steel swivels had such a low breaking strength rating. As I researched and found that most of them use brass bodies, I guessed that there may be some ultra premium swivels out there from manufacturers who had built the tooling to deal with the more difficult forming of stainless and were likely charging 10x the price or more for their products. I am often making custom spinners that need strength or stealthy presentations where smaller hardware is a definite advantage, so I was entirely willing to spend a lot if I could find swivels made of 100% stainless so they could be both strong and small.I found the products that I was looking for from AFW and they aren't much more expensive than the run-of-the-mill swivels that claim to be stainless but are partially brass so they have to be larger and weaker. These swivels are absolutely outstanding. Being a skeptical engineer, I did test the strength on a couple of each size. Every single one was at least as strong as their rating. They are so strong that my challenge in testing was trying to fit something through the tiny eyes on the swivels that would be strong enough to not break before the swivels broke.I am sure that there's a very slight risk of the line being tied to these swivels breaking a tiny bit sooner due to being tied around smaller wire on these swivels than on other, larger swivels with similar or lower breakage ratings. That's physics within the line material, though, not a fault with these swivels. If that concerns you, just use a bigger size. For whatever physical size you choose, these swivels will be stronger than any others. These should cost more for the quality difference vs competitive products. They should also be marketed much better. It took me hours of research trying to find truly 100% stainless swivels and snap swivels. I was even considering that it might be an unmet market need and therefore a business opportunity that I could take on myself. Once I found these, though, there's no way that it would be worth the design and tooling development cost to make a product as good as these. I'm going to stock up on these before this AFW addresses this sales and marketing miss. With over 30 years of engineering experience and over 40 years of fishing, I can say it's rare to find a product that is just superior to others for nearly any use case. This is one of those products.

Simply the best they have never let me down like some other Swivels have,as you can see I use 3 to each gang of hooks so each section has to hold up under stress and these little beauties do.Cheers

Don't let the diminutive size discourage you from trying these, they are strong. The #7 I ordered, have handled musky up to 44" and rotated freely under load. As noted by another reviewer, they're tiny, but swivels come in standard sizing, so you know how big they are when you buy them. If you need a larger swivel, buy a numerically lower size until you get to 1/0, then they go numerically higher. Eg.#7 is smaller than #5 however #2/0 is small than #3/0, the same progression that applies to a fish hook.
